Many pilots have many ways, tools of piloting their mechs in MWO. Some use just two buttons, and keyboard, and do awesome. Some use Joystick. But if wanting to advance to more, here is a good example of using a MMO mouse in MWO.

Make sure to set quality at :1080

Really do not like the price I paid for mine ($150). And first thing that goes is the mouse wheel, on em. So now I use the MMO mouse only for MWO, and another mouse ($20) for other things. Sure good to shop around.

i got a cheap $11 chinese mouse. sold as a 9 button mouse. though only 4 of them are actually usable. 2 are dedicated to setting mouse dpi, a third is dedicated to switch to desktop. one wont map in mwo (though go figure it works in mw5), one is a turbo button that clicks left mouse 3 times fast (its why i fire my ppcs like uac5s), and i never use the wheel button (its set to advanced zoom, and i never use advanced zoom). four weapon groups are more than enough, i seldom use more than 3.

most of my other functions are mapped to my ch pro throttle, which has four hat switches, and a thumbstick which i have programmed to act as a 5-way hat, so 21 functions that cover most of the controls in the game. and 3 extra stand alone buttons, which i use for jj, masc, and arm lock toggle. i steer with pedals. i only use the keyboard for chat, if there is not a cat in the way.

I used the naga and the logitech g600 in the past. If you have big hands use the G600. Plus it often goes on sale. If you can get it for cheap. Then it's definitely worth it.

But if you want wireless multi-button. Then I recommend this mouse. https://www.amazon.c...1_t2_B0086UK7IQ

It holds a charge for a decent amount of time and if you have a long USB-C cable you can play with it hooked up in a pinch. Only downside is the side buttons are a bit small. Not terribly, I got used to it. The G600 has bigger buttons. If it matters supposedly it's made in America. But wouldn't be surprised if it's Chinese parts assembled in America.

As for the naga, it's over priced, kinda small. But I did love the original version. The newer version looks like they went cheap with it, without dropping price. So screw that.

Also if you decide on a G600 don't get a Logitech keyboard. Damn things would interfere with each other and cause the keyboard to just spaz out. Even with their stupid software :I

No i wont touch wireless crap with a ten foot pole.. If my cat ate the wire it'd be looking for a new home..

I only buy wired stuff.. for gaming its a requirement.

I use a Razor Viper with 5 Buttons, and a Razor Tartarus. I don't use a keyboard at all, unless I'm typing...

Used to be a requirement, but not anymore. Logitech lightspeed is just as fast as wired. Other companies have their own versions just as fast too.

And batteries dying. I can't remember to charge anything, let alone a mouse! lol... Wait, will the mouse's hair stand up, and start smoking if I charge it!?

Hey Lord Nothing,

What software did you use to program the thumbstick on your CH throttle? I have that controller as well. CH Program Manager does not work in Win10. I use joy2key but haven't tried programming the thumbstick for anything but mouse emulation.

Good hunting,

i just used the ch control manager software. running v 4.55a and it works in windows 10 for me. i also make cmcc run at startup so it can automatically load the last profile. you might have a problem with the virtual drivers, so make sure "CH Control Manager Device 1" appear in the device manager (should be under "CH Products" in the device manager root). this might not install until you download your profile and switch to mapped mode.

heres the cms script i used to do it:

script
//fake hat
//left right
if ([js1.a2 > 96] and [js1.a2 < 160]) then
  if ([js1.a1 >= 192]) then
	cms.b1 = true;
  else
	cms.b1 = false;
  endif
  if ([js1.a1 <= 68 ]) then
	cms.b2 = true;
  else
	cms.b2 = false;
  endif
else
  cms.b1 = false;
  cms.b2 = false;
endif
//up down
if ([js1.a1 > 96] and [js1.a1 < 160]) then
  if ([js1.a2 >= 192]) then
	cms.b3 = true;
  else
	cms.b3 = false;
  endif
  if ([js1.a2 <= 68 ]) then
	cms.b4 = true;
  else
	cms.b4 = false;
  endif
else
  cms.b3 = false;
  cms.b4 = false;
endif
endscript

the throttle needs to be device 1 and you need to have cms enabled. outputs on cms buttons 1-4. be sure those are bound to something (mine are bound directly to keystrokes, but you could just map it to dx controls and map those in the game). let me know if you want the whole profile.

speed of light through air is faster than through copper, and the difference would be so infinitesimal you wouldn't notice. and if you think its protocol latency, you haven't seen the usb stack from the inside. wires also throw your aim off.

They basically have though. Logitech powerplay lets you charge some wireless mice like the g502 wireless lightspeed wirelessly and while in use. That setup ain't cheap but it basically does what you are asking for, it even says infinite power on its webpage.

i did have an old mx5000 bluetooth laser mouse. and the battery on that thing was trash. it lasted 5 days tops when it was new. things have come a long way since then.

Logitech Lightspeed is the real deal and makes a huge difference. A normal bluetooth mouse is horrible in comparison. I use a G613 and a G305. Excellent products.
