Love em,
Can't get enough of em,

Dusted off the Archer last night for a spin and guess what? Yup, Alpine peaks.

I began drooling, sweating, shaking with excitement and anticipation of the pain and tears about to come as i peel open armor like sardine cans for my team mates to pick off like a bear pulling salmon from a river.

I started locks at 1300 m and began firing like an old bar drunk chain smoking in the corner booth.
Watching my reticle i knew i was making contact.

After my first 1000 missiles and a final blow, i moved in tight with the second line. "Yes i got lucky and had some talented peeps on the team".

Did some direct firing and popped a Treb that was letting his lurms go as well. Drained another 800 missiles before helping a MK2 take down a locust that came in behind with my 4 mrl's.

Got my final 320 missiles before a perfect gauss shot from accross the map put me down.

Love em.

Makes popcorn...

Have you tried chain firing LRM5s? You don't even need locks, just keep spraying and it's a bonus if they hit something. The fafnir is a good platform for it too.

Make sure you take Artemis to keep them spreads *tight*.

I'm saving PSR, GXP, and Cbills for my LRM 100 Marauder II.

PSR: So I don't lose rank (but I keep fluctuating between tier 3 and 4 anyways at the moment)
GXP: Because it needs a lot of heat skill nodes to fire without shutting down from ghost heat of 2 lrm 20 and 4 lrm 15
Cbills: Because I have the mech, but it will cost almost 8m cbills to outfit it.

I don't care about my PSR for now, as a newcomer.
For each of my 100+ unskilled Hero/Special/Loyalty mechs, I'm just dumping 14-15 GSP to start it off, and then take my time leveling it up. You will get killed easier being unskilled.

But you get to fiddle around with a lot of different mechs playstyles that otherwise you might not get around to try (especially if one is bound by PSR rankings)!

So what is the difference between LB5-X and LRM5 then? :)

There's a reason LRMs are the most popular weapon in the new comp group queue.

I had real trouble completing the AMS portion of the current event, despite all the Mechs I used bringing AMS except for one. Most of them even fielded double AMS with 2 tons of ammo. Maybe it depends on when people play.

The same reason they were the preferred weapon of the old "solo queue?" No effort required and you get to hide someplace safe while your team facetanks damage to give you locks, of course.

Lurmers are scum.

Lurmers only do well when their team does all the heavy lifting for them.

I'm sorry, Willard, I should have been more specific. My question was referring to the last part of your sentence.

How else would you describe it? It's not the "solo queue," since premade groups are there. It's certainly not "quick play" when you wait 15 minutes for a drop. There are all sorts of well known, elite, T1 comp group players there.....more now than before the merger. "The new comp group queue" sounds a whole lot better than "the backed up toilet queue."

Sorry, not my experience. I neither wait 15 minutes nor drop that often against premades of comp players in the Quickplay Queue.

You've not played around good lurmers then. The best ones fight from just behind the brawl line so they're sharing armor and getting their own locks.
