48 Artillery/air Strikes Strikes Per Match Is ********

- Not 4/5 of players had enough Cbills for unlimited air strikes
- Cbills were 3 times harder to get
- Events didn't give out free air strikes
- When we didn't have 2 events at the same time, all the time, giving out everything
- Considering the events, every game you spend 80k for 2 air strikes, you still get enough money to buy 4 - 12 new ones
Everybody can spam them. First contact, instant artillery, every game
- They need 0 skill. 1 click noobbutton
- They do absolutely random damage. Going from 1 to 30% on a heavy mech
- They are placed behind you, so you don't see the smoke
-There was a time when the stronger ones cost MC, no more
-They need a laughable 4 skillpoints to max out, 1 you would take anyway, makes 3.
If you want some of the other skills maxed, you need up to 30 points.
First 3 minutes of contact you have to mash the Air Strike button, to get one down, because everybody is spamming them like crazy
REWORK the air strikes. Maybe you have to hold down the button 3 seconds or something.
The bad players, who need a 1 click button and can't hit a fence, will disagree

yeah, strikes-24/7 is annyoing - yet they are in the game for a reason. without strikes, there would be other annyoing things to vent about. things the strikes where made for.
imo, they should stay as they are - while maybe not being counted towards damage/matchscore in the endscreen. so they could fulfill their role ingame, without adding to the damage-numbers so many egos rely on.
the good players will still pull their weight (and damagenumbers) without strikes (being counted).

Other online games (eg: ST:O) clearly mark the Artillery Strike diameter circle, so that you have just enough time to move out of the strike zone. If you don't move out--then you are asking for trouble. This clearly mark the Artillery Strike diameter circle is especially useful if it's behind you, and you would still know about it!

1. The original idea is to threaten a player or group of players to keep moving and disperse,
otherwise they would get hit with Artillery Strike or Airstrike.
2. But what happens if the Artillery Strike 'smoke' is behind you?
There is no way to know smoke is behind you, and you'll likely take the full damage--from the back (most likely orange CT/LT/RT).

4. Heck, for the 'smoke' just before Artillery Strike, please make it visible in Thermal Vision and Night Vision by making its 'texture' hot, just like the hot smoke from Caustic Valley! (ie: It can be done!)

I hope that when and if they will let us put our hands on the skill tree we may come to a consensus on rmoving the possibility to bring 2 strikes, ar at least make it cost more on the skill tree

Remaining Artillery/Air strike issues that still need to be addressed IMHO:
1) There is still no way of knowing of an impending Artillery/Air strike if the 'smoke' is behind you.
2) The 'smoke' preceding Artillery/Air strikes is almost invisible in Thermal/Night vision.

I'll bring this aspect to the other guys anyways, someone already suggested a minimap blip to signal the smoke. I suggested a "warning incoming strike" sound alert if the smoke is less than 100 meters from you, but i got outvoted in the past, i'll try to bring it up again
With the strike duration increased from 4 secs to 6 secs, the bombs increased from 10 to 20 and the damage per bomb decreased from 15 to 5 you should take A LOT less damage overall and also have the time to move and avoid taking the full strike. (we already tested this on the bots in testing ground, and you do take less damage)
Air strikes got nerfed less (from 15 to 7 and 1 more bomb) because you can spot the airplane

IMO this is a good thing. I play a lot of matches mostly/totally in thermals because of how strong it is for close-range fights. Not being able to see strike smoke is a fair trade and incentivizes not using thermals constantly.

In theory I agree with your suggestion. However, in the current state of MWO you will never hear the warning sound in a timely manner due to the way Betty's voice lines are stacked one after another.
This is kind of a persistent problem with Bitching Betty that I haven't seen brought up by many people.

I see their value though, to keep the game going than just stale fights from a firing line. That being said, I think they shouldn't be free hits, but a dedicated platform.
I'd rather we introduce artilleries, Arrow IV and Thumper.

And Mechmortars, and Rifles and diverse Ammo (LRM/SRM/AC), hypervelocity and caseless ACs, binary lasers and chemical lasers, and pink unicorns vomiting rainbows and Arrow IV Artillery Missiles and Thunderbolt Missile Systems....

Yeah, this. You're supposed to be paying attention to your surroundings, not just what's in front of your nose. Also, if teams communicated with each other instead of just running around like idiots, a teammate who sees the smoke should be warning everyone else.

Glory be to the Bomb, and to the Holy Fallout. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be. World without end.
