well most players used to end up in T1 and we would play against almost all players
but sadly the try hards could not stand this and complained and complained until PGI changed the system
these days
if your good enough you will quickly rise to T1 and you will play the best of the best
good luck

that would skyrocket T1 players K/D and W/L and opposite to T5 players, Generally bad idea.

What the duck Dave? Even for you this is total brain fart comment...
Are you seriously saying having better matchmaking is worse? Seems to me that it's still the potatoes that QQ here in here forums that some T1 ends up playing against t4-5...."gaming the system" as Samial says.

Fighting a vastly inferior opponent is an objectively bad experience. There's little to no challenge or uncertainty about how it's going to pan out - the outcome has been a foregone conclusion the moment you were thrown on the opposite sides of the match, you're just going through the motions of resolving it.
Again, that scenario is something only a bully would actually enjoy for more than a brief period of time.
For an actual comp-grade tryhard, having to fight inferior opponents is degrading and can even be seen as detrimental to their skill level (since rando pugs make mistakes tryhards don't and don't punish you for making mistakes tryhards would). I don't expect you to understand this, just accept that it is like that.

Even with the issues remaining, the current PSR calculation is still better than it was before the rework.
You also might think "well, make it opt-in then, so i could choose to ignore it". Then the question is, what if people don't want to end up in all-tiers-included matches you want to be in? That's more playerbase fracturing people are afraid of at this time.
All you need to play with everyone is to reach tier 3, considering they get to play with all tier brackets up and down.

I saw almost same faces from Tier 1-2, when I got back to Tier 3.
So I can say, there are 2 tiers: 5-4 and 3-1.

I played with that guy recently! He was on my team. He helped bait 3 enemies into our trap and we wasted this Rifleman with pre-registered fire, then killed the other 2 enemies before they could retreat or get help from their teammates.
Which you know, you'd think I should know better than to fall for the kind of trap I was part of, but a few games later I got baited by a Piranha into the pre-registered fire of an Annihilator.

He was shooting from positions, which nobody uses. Nobody sees him at first. At the end he did 700-800 damage with light mech.

Terrible idea. We had this in May '20 and June '20 (seasons 46 and 47) after tiers were reset. Those players currently staying in T5, T4, and T3 would get farmed extremely hard and complain just like they did back then, and those players farming them would get bored and frustrated by the low quality of play and opposition.
Kanil, on 30 January 2022 - 01:29 PM, said:
That's incorrect. Plenty of players seek to improve their skills and their coordination with their teammates while staying within the rules of the game (and do so with success).

A sufficiently advanced tryhard expects both sides to go all out and fight to the limit of their ability within the rules - the better man, woman or clanner wins. But they also understand that there's no honor, no accomplishment, in stomping out an inferior opponent - rather, being matched against one who doesn't stand a chance is undesirable and demeaning to both parties. That is a tryhard's sense of fair play.
I think there is very little dispute that close matchups tend to be both among the most enjoyable to fight in and most entertaining to watch.
A tryhard wants every match to be like that, every match to push them to their limits.
And that requires solid matchmaking.
If you still don't understand it, then you never understood tryhards or how they think.
