As usual you blanket your lie with a sprinkle of truth. Covid led to an uptick? Yes.
But is that uptick solely the result of covid? Did the cauldron changes really result in no lasting increase in the playerbase? That's argument is a little harder to defend unless you're ok with being dishonest.
its not hard to defend at all. all one has to do is look online to verify everything ive said about steam having record high number of players due to covid.
are you honestly telling me that steam having a record high number of concurrent online players and MWO, a steam game, gaining a record high number of new players has absolutely no correlation? especially when other steam games that cauldron isnt involved with are also reporting similar upticks?
whats disingenuous is cauldron trying to take credit for covid. lmao.
cauldron's patch did get a number of old players to return, but thats about all they can take credit for. And I will give them credit for that.
but I still dont believe the game's player retention rate has gone up any. i dont think a lot of these new players are going to keep playing this game for very long. balancing from the top is not what you do if you want to retain new players that are all starting at the bottom. cauldron continually increasing the skill gap is ultimately going to hurt this game by driving new players away.
If cauldron wants to retain as many of these new players as possible they should be reducing the skill gap not increasing it.
