In summary, I expect a good player to be able to climb to Tier 1 with a fresh account anywhere between 150-200ish games.
No matter how often you, or Ash, or some other high % player put forth these kinds of efforts, or make these make these sorts of observations, the usual suspects are going to argue that your experiences are not realistic, or not reflective of what is "normal", etc. and that there is a perfectly valid, if not indisputable (from their perspective) reason that they can not rise to tier 1. E.g. Something, something "my style of play", "I only play stock lore Charger 1A1", or something along those lines.

And you have to keep in mind that not everyone can do this so quickly. It’s impossible for EVERYONE to have a W/L of 2.0, so for each player like that you’ll see a few down in the 0.9 W/L range. Players who are not top damage dealers will progress much more slowly to tier 1.
And honestly, that’s okay. There’s nothing magical about being in Tier 1 other than a general lack of n00bs. You see less wild or sub par mech builds but you still see nascar and assaults being left behind to die alone.
The important thing is to have fun.
Totally agree. Fun is the goal. Tier is irrelevant.
In terms of tier and PSR progression, I'll argue however that W/L ratio, while not irrelevant is not that big of a deal. After the last reset I rose back to T1 in about 175 games, playing mostly a MPL Jester, and I am a barely above 1.0 W/L player. More often than not I get up arrows on losses though.
Anyway, I've said it before and I'll say it again, if someone wants to rise to T1 quickly despite not being true T1 material its pretty damn easy to do: strikes, multiple AMS, and overide are your friends, not dying first and killing at least one enemy is your goal. Mid range, min-maxed builds make it easier. That's really all you need. But getting to T1 doesn't do anything for you, so I really don't understand why so many around here obsessed with it. You get no special in game bonuses, no "ta da" moment in the game. As far as I can tell, it's just occasionally slightly longer wait times and seeing the same names over and over in your matches to a higher degree than you might otherwise. Yippie.
Play to have fun, and if you manage to rise in tier, great. If you don't, then don't sweat it. But I do think some folks around here just need to relax and stop pretending that T1 is some herculean task to achieve. Most anyone can do it, and the game provides the tools to allow most anyone to do it fairly quickly, if they really want to.
