yeah Snipers have gotten oppressive ever since they nerfed LRM to the velocity of a nerf dart. funny how that sort of thing happens. back when i used to play more regularly the tactic i would use when the snipers were being a pain was to bring out my LRM boats. most had everything i could get to increase my sensor range (within reason). of course back then you had a decent chance of hitting something at 900m+ (even further back in the day but they nerfed range a LONG time ago). sadly these days you need a minimum of +40% Velocity to have LRM do their job.
keep in mind that at 900m its was easy enough for those snipers to get to cover but it they are hiding behind cover to avoid the LRM they aren't shooting. if they stay out to shoot they take damage. (it also helps to have a little buddy within range to get spotting when you can't) now that LRM are near Useless you see a LOT more snipers because nothing but another sniper can do anything about them and more often than not your own snipers are far back to do anything about the enemy snipers since they are doing their best to stay out of range of the enemy lead element. personally i think we should keep the effective range where its at with most sniper weapons but decrease the total max range that way they have to get closer if they want to deal any damage at all but still having the same range for doing full damage. it might force the snipers who think just burning paint off a mech is good enough to get closer.
