New Marauder Variants

This is something I spent the whole night on.

The X-Series Marauder

I would like to see two new variants of the IS Marauder in MWO. I have no idea if these configs are anywhere in the lore of Battletech but I had fun doing a render with the mechs showing what they would look like with the ballistic mounts. The two mechs are identical except one has two AMS slots and the other only having an ECM slot. I have no clue how well these two mechs would be balanced in the current game. It has always bugged me to see the Marauder having 1-3 ballistic slots in a single side torso and not just one in both like the Thanatos.

The MAD-X1 has two AMS and ballistic mounts, one in each side torso along with two energy mounts per left and right arm.
The MAD-X2 has an ECM mount in the center torso with two ballistic mounts, one in each side torso with two energy mounts per left and right arm.

If the Marauder had weapons in the left torso, it'd be amazingly good, haha. I'd welcome it, but it'd be difficult to balance.

The Thanatos is very similar minus two extra energy hardpoints on an arm for two missile slots. The Marauders silhouette I think would give it a much better advantage looking straight on vs the bulky front of the Thanatos which is why I think it might be to good for the current game thoe im no expert on balancing.

I hope this helps. On the X2 RAC/5 Build, one could drop the arm heat sync for another ton of RAC/5 Ammo.

Problem is that, the projectile origin is kind of calculated wrong. So the other cannon is veering at the side. No idea how to fix that.

@PGI with the new Legends being a bit more on the creative side, perhaps its time to revisit some of the creative 'Mech ideas your community members have had over the years... ;)

You image above is nice. Good job.

But honestly speaking, your modified Marauder would make the Thanatos quite obsolete (as you have noticed). Your Marauder would be essentially doing the Thanatos' work, while offering much better Marauder hitboxes.

It seems hardpoint-wise it could carry 4xUAC2s + some kind of PPCs for salt...
I think they got the idea of this one from this topic...
