1 or 2 or even no points of armor in organized competitive play works because normally you are not wandering around alone waiting to get pounced on by a fast mech and instead playing a set of rigid tactics where 99% of the time your front is facing the enemy. The backstabbing tricks I pull in my fle-20 in quick play wouldn't work in organized play.

Yea that's what I was trying to point out, in organized play you have someone covering your back and the tactics are such that you can have so little back armor. In QP you can't rely on that or rather its virtually non existent.

Also spoilers, IDGAF about kills. I care about damage, which equates to ranking up. If you think I'm gonna "play to win" as a solo, light mech only player, that is a fools errand.

Also, if someone says "yeah but you only played 30 games with that mech", I stopped playing because it legit got boring, I flew to Tier 1 and got bored.

Should I be impressed?

If you have ever played Lights then you know that anything over 200 damage is a miracle. Good luck hitting that magic 500 when your maximum alpha is an awe inspiring 20 points.

It certainly can be hard to remain consistent with some Light chassis, but while Lights have a moderate skill requirement to overcome, they can be as strong as any other class. Then there are a handful of Lights which are downright broken. In general though, consistently breaking 500 damage and a couple kills is possible in a good chassis, like the Incubus. I just checked my Sabre stats - 1.9 w/l, 4.0 kdr, 633 average damage per match. That's across 30 games, so not a huge selection, but probably representative of my actual performance in it.

No, but if you refer to my posts, the people accused me of making up fairy tales.

500 is my minimum goal in lights always, If I do less I don't consider that good game from my part.

I know how that can be. Even clan lights can get pretty low damage despite their many advantages over is lights. Don't blame you for saying it got boring. Playing a weight class or just mwo for a long period gets dull fast. The current meta is exceptionally dull to me. Long range er ll and ppc spam mostly. If I wanted to play a turret I'm start using a stock urbie. I'd rather be actively scouting and diving in and out of an ememy team after distracted targets but now the game in qp is just waddle to minimal distance to see a mech and shoot with 1800m laser repeat.

My time as playing the game as competitive or semi-competitive ended years ago while fw was still an active thing getting new modes and things from pgi to try and improve it. I mostly play now to just run random builds for the fun of it. If I really wanted to get back to how I was with the game I'd need new pc rather than the aging machine I use now which was build to mwo specs when closed beta first came out.

they need to bring back getting knocked down. and stop this weird delayed damage that happens to lights. im tired of alpha striking an urbanmech in my crusader for 56 a pop and not downing them in 2 volleys max. it makes the game not interesting.

Urbies have great hitboxes and if it was twisting even a little that damage was spread around evenly. They can be hard little buggers to kill if the pilot is half decent.

Almost certainly not going to happen.

Light 'Mechs - such as the UrbanMech - are small and they have small hitboxes. The damage is often spread across the entire 'Mech.

Also, the UrbanMech comes with the armor quirks. They boost the UrbanMech's armor protection.
