Dear MWO, thank you for listening to player feedback, to convert some of the popular mechs into Special Variant with +30% CBills !!

So any update on this pay $$ (and eventually MC at a later stage) for this MMMS (Make My Mech Special) proposal?

Now that MWO had just announced Special Variant of MAL-2P(S) & MAD-IIC-A(S), I for one would be willing to pay $$ and MC to make my KDK-3(S) with +30% CBills bonus!!!

So am I reading this right? S variants for two mechs that are actually good mechs? That is extremely generous and is arguably one of the best Christmas give aways for all of the years I've been playing. Thanks ahead of time.

Oh, are these two supposedly "good"? The above comments may have explained for me what's going on. I'm legit bummed by the chosen variants. With some of PGI's fakery, you can still make a legit TT variant from the hardpoints, but these are two of the few where that's not possible, so they're gonna be hangar queens.

Perhaps not fully following TT lore (I'm not a die hard TT fan), but these MWO mechs are amazing!

The MAL-2P(S) is my favorite mech in MWO!
I actually have two (2) MAL-2P Standard Variants to avoid the switching to/from Standard/LFE armor setups!

MAL-2P(S)
-10% Cooldown
-25% UAC heat gen
-20% UAC jam chance
-10% Laser heat gen
Missile quirks including +velocity speed!

MAD-IIC-A(S)
-20% UAC jam chance !

They arent bad, but i do agree they arent quite top tier, at least now with how the meta has shifted recently.

That said, the UAC+PPC build is still very competitive if you know what you are doing with it in QP on the MAD-IIC. Its not going to solo carry, but i can pull off easy 1K fdamage games if i dont get vey unlucky and come across someone who has a hard on for that RT with all the guns in it (happens, but very rarely in QP aslong as i shield properly and keep moving since the mech cant really peek, more of a pusher as with most dakka builds). My preferences are 3UAC5+2PPC or 1UAC10+2UAC5+1PPC depending on whether i want more DPS or more focused and ranged damage. You can also run other variations like 2UAC10+1UAC5+1PPC but those require STDs which cut your mobility by alot so not really worth it in my experience, same with LBX builds which just suck on clam to be honest unlike IS 4xLB10.

Mauler can run 2HGR+6ERMLs or something around those lines so its not bad either although not my cup of tea since it lacks any of the 3 things i look for in a HGR mech, namely hitboxes (clops best for that regard), ecm (fatnir beats it here), or mobility (none of the HGR mechs really have this but at least the clops has way better agility and the Victor can get JJs+agility). Again, not really a mech im hyped about, but its at least got a build i can think of that is solid with proper positioning.

Now what we do need is a hellbringer or a blood asp, those 2 are my fav mechs right now as they are that good in 90% of games and have high carry potential if built and piloted correctly.

Nevretheless, I am not a native english speaker (reader), so let us clarify this: For the Mauler and Marauder 2c I need to play a single match I could even lost (50 score is the one the first who dies got in a QP match)? So the whole stuff (mechs, bays, money and all) is literally given away to us for FREE?!
