make the Collector pack like it was in the past but make it 60$ and let the People choose the Variant they would like to have with C bill boost.
Would really like to buy such a pack. I know that the 5k fits my playstyle more then the 3 r.
Just try it out and look how the sale of that new pack goes.
I bet that people who are willing to buy the collector pack with S ADDON dont care much giving 5 bucks more and have the oportunity to choose the Variant with C Bill boost THEY want. So why not?
You dont have anyway anything more to loose,

Hm, you do know that only one single variant has such an array of MGs?

Most variants primarily use missiles, while one other uses a laser battery.

I do like that pre order bonuses are now running till a month after the release actually.
That part is very fair. The price is quite dear, but that has always been the case with MWO.
Fans that love MWO will get their worth out of this package for sure, for me... well, I have to see if the changes hinted at the roadmap will bring me back to MWO.

Awesome design. As always, well done PGI.

There's some seriously potent CQC setups that are killer with only 6 MG's... now think about how hectic this could be... with enough armor and missile quirks, this could be a killer in CQC combat situations.

Personally I find the 14 energy and Hero variants to be interesting. Though, as has been previously stated, quirks will make the difference on these mechs, since most of the builds you can do on the others can already be done on something else. From a "what you get for your money" (value) standpoint, given the extra pre-order goodies, I think even if half of the variants are "meh" (just ditch them for c-bills/bays then), it's still a good value.

One thing though, PGI: Stop charging full-price for the Ultimate pack! There is absolutely no reason (other than to qualify for the Loyalty bonus) to buy the Ultimate pack when I can spend the same amount to get them individually. A simple $5 off would do the trick. I'm sure I'm not the only player that feels this way, and I'm certain it's been mentioned many, many times in the past......

Someone clearly has never played with the LMG madness that are the ACH-E and the MLX-G or that insane P.G.I. creation called the Piranha Posted ImagePosted ImagePosted ImagePosted Image

yay for the crusader!

NAY however for the no-standard-pack. .. why?!

or to be blunt: I'd spend 20€ on this, I guess. but I have no intention to spend 40€. there's "supporting your local mechgame" - and then there's throwing money away around..

pls do a standardpack as well :)

Zero excitement.
LRMs are wrong placed.

Crusaders never had any of those Archer-like shoulder launchers, in canon, they always sported their LRMs in their fists. Your image pictures a re-imagination of the CRD-3K. Here's another image of the same variant by the same author, but sticking to the "official" description.

While not as cool, it certainly looks similar to the MWO concept, doesn't it? Posted Image

have a look here, and here - to see where the shoulder-missile idea is coming from:

.. and man, at least the left one is one sexy mech, right? No Urbie, but maybe the next best thing Posted Image

I'm happy with how PGI is handling bringing in Mech designs with leg weapons, shifting to the side torsos is more than reasonable to make it viable for gaming simulators.

Come on now. I was waiting for this for A WHILE.
The pricing disincentivizes purchasing. I'm really struggling for opening the wallet.

What is it about the price? If I recall correctly the Champion was the same price.

I have no Champions in my inventory that I purchased with Real Life $.
Check the page

I don't think it is that much $.

No $20 three mech option? Thats a no-go for me then. I'll wait for them to drop for C-bills if I'm still kicking around by then.
I think I wait until its available for C-bills too ... unlike the ELEMENTALS in the Clan packages, I dont see anything interesting in the preorder bonuses.

While the price politics certainly can be discussed, upcoming quirks gotta be taken into account, when judging the "potential viability" of this mech - and the Cauldron has proven most variants can be granted a solid and fun2play niche with a bit of flexibility / creativity in terms of quirks (plus there is still hope, that new quirks can be implemented with some engineering-hours at hand).

MechPacks - or the financial access to certain content-combinations - are an itchy topic to discuss, no doubt. On the other hand I am somewhat glad, that PGI tries to provide new content that implies more than just a re-hash of already existing assets again.

Assuming this pack to be some kind of a "last bullet" to prove, that creating MWO-content can still be financially rewarding for the company and the connected implications for future manpower being allocated, I will - additionally motivated by the pure 3025-nostalgia and decent aesthetics the Crusader provides - buy it and furthermore feel like it is worth buying with the C-Bill, MC and GSP-Goodies in mind. Mebbe Mark Nicholson will bring up some decent looking bolt-ons in the upcoming weeks as another incentive.

Potential discussions about different approaches when talking about future mech releases, mechpack-options and a pricing reasonable for customer AND company would be appreciated though.

Dunno how to make sure (if not for packages), that less interesting variants get bought though - if em ain't being heavily supported via quirks etc.

Excuse me if this already been asked & answered, but do you get the early adopter rewards regardless of which package level you order?
