Rarely post.
Since an update last month, or was it two months ago? MWO has been crashing non-stop nearly and more and more issues pop up because the crashing seems to be causing files to get corrupted. Reinstalled, verified files ect. Nothing resolves the issue.

i dont think this is mwo. ive had windows update break all my drivers on 2 different windows 10 machines in the last 2 months. windows is very sensitive to bad driver installs, its the biggest contributor to blue screens. i always figured as far as drivers go if it aint broke dont fix it. most mobos only see a couple updates to all the drivers over their entire service life. and thats something i usually take care of during regular maintenance. so doing a manual install is usually fine. at least until windows thinks it can do a better job than you can.
anyway a lot of those errors are problems with textures, which means windows thought it was good enough at installing drivers to update your video drivers. and broke whatever api extension handled texture scaling. it could be that one of your pak files is corrupt, so check the repair tool first, but if that doesn't work, do a clean update of your graphics driver.

Actually going over drivers and windows updates right now to see what else I could do. Thanks for confirming them for me.

Heh. I would not be surprised. To that note I HAD a computer that I had intended to play around with Linux or another OS while I still had this running. I find that they changed GPedit or I believe so, the menu was more populated than it has been in these last few months/year. Having to constently turn things back off with every reset too...

Just got done spending around two , three hours troubling shooting with a tech friend and the problem goes deep enough that it is just not worth fixing to run MWO.
TrakIR is not installed on this computer. It is not in Reg or GP, not in control panel or any other listing. I saw it when reinstalling windows some time ago along with a slew of other face tracking programs and I disabled them or removed them. I tend to do that to everything on my install that will hold the computer down. The various logs I have talk of files missing but never states what those files are in any measure but all drivers are intact and working, windows appears to be intact and working as I intend. Had the help of my tech friends , had them go over my crap to make sure I was not missing something obvious but nothing was clearly wrong with the system.
I probably could get MWO to run again but at this point I am done. There is a potental fix in back dating the windows install to the start of janurary to fix the issue but at that point no thanks.
EDIT: To make things clear I do not think of myself as someone who knows a fair amount about computers I am just someone who likes to play with them so I could have my head up my butt on this and not notice which is why I have someone else every now and then go over my work.

Try using Display Driver Uninstaller which is nvidia approved to clean the system of all traces of graphics drivers and reset the os back to freshly installed as far as gpu drivers are concerned. I've used it a fair few times over the years to solve some annoying gpu issues.

trackir initialization errors dont make sense from a programmers point of view. it clearly checks to see if the trackir api dll is present.

this sounds like it checked the registry for the location of the api dll and did not find it. the installer would put those keys there. so the game does not know where the dll is, and it knows that it doesn't know. normally you would stop here, as this is a clear indication that the driver is not installed. but then it goes and tries to initialize the damn thing and it throws some more errors:

which totally should not have been done if you could not resolve the location of the dll. it should only throw these errors if the key was present, but there was a problem loading the dll (it was missing or corrupt or some such). that would indicate a problem with trackir installation. this is just bad form with regards to error handling and reporting. it should have said 'trackir not found', and skipped the initialization.
interestingly enough i get these errors, and i bet everyone does. i used trackir on my old build, but have not connected the device to my new build nor have i installed the drivers. the only way to make those errors go away, is to install a track ir on your system.

just do a custom install and tick the clean install checkbox.

Clean install only removes the custom game settings and other settings that were changed from the driver default and does not reset the os back to freshly installed. This is why DDU is a sticky on the nvidia driver page to clear up odd problems a normal uninstall/reinstall miss or can't fix.

clean install also removes the previous version of the drivers. im sure the nuclear option is a good bet in some situations, but ive never needed it.

Test without your USB headset.
Do you have sound mods installed?
Update sound drivers.
Now for testing only, disable sound/music completely for the game.
Create a file called user.cfg and place it in your MWO folder. Open it with notepad and add these two lines.

Test without your USB headset.
Do you have sound mods installed?
Update sound drivers.
Now for testing only, disable sound/music completely for the game.
Create a file called user.cfg and place it in your MWO folder. Open it with notepad and add these two lines.
s_SoundEnable 0
s_MusicEnable 0

Did those except the user config file. Almost 14 days? I guess it is not registering resets after all then.... I tend to turn off my computer when I go to sleep, that was brought up by a friend but I had assumed it read all the resets because all software that needed them was happy with it and I have not seen any other signs like high resource use ect. Hmm.
Going to do the DDU reinstall.
