Most likely I'll be in a heavy, maybe a larger medium depending on what's available.

I tried MW 2 mercs out and encountered Urbies for the first time in my life and I say: "Use them more than anything else!"
Why? Because after he shoots those 10 rounds he is dead. Well, he is dead when you look at him, actually.

That's a tough choice between mediums and heavies. I love both classes, but in the end heavies have bigger guns and more of them. So what if the little guys are fast? Just don't lead them as much...

I always liked the Heavy class mechs. It depends on what mech we are talking about cause there are a lot of solid mediums I love but generally I like mechs like the good old Thug  or Mad Cat (I know everyone loves it but its a solid design) Vulture (mad dog) I may be mixing up my time line tho, I'm not 100% sure on what mechs were there pre clan invasion due to I started MW with MW2:merc so that's my reference pool.

But as a rule of thumb anything between 60-90 ton is my range. I could be talked into a medium but no way I'd choose a light.

I will run in a heavy and most likely run the mediums and assault classes from time to time. the only real light I liked was the cougar (runs like a light but hits like medium).

Mediums: I really only used the uziel but since that will not be here it's going to be interesting to see which one I will pliot.

Heavies: My bread & butter class. Mad cat and the vulture/Mad dog were my favs, along me running around in other heavies like the thor. the first time I saw the Mad Dog version of the vulture, it was love at first sight  .

Assault: Would love this class but most of the mechs I ran in are after 3050. like the Fafnir, daishi, Mad Cat MkII and especially the Blood Asp line :D (you know a mech is bad-to-the-bone when it can even make a atlas run for it's life  ), of course the exception to this being the atlas.

one wish would be to see the Ares on the battlefield, now there's a mech I'd just run away and call in long range fire support.

Assaults. There's something so satisfying about blowing someone into a million pieces with a Fafnir's dual HGs.

I`d kill to get my hands on a nightstar! this would be awesome! was my favourite mech in the tabletop game. i don`t know why but in the games that i had, the gauss rifles of this beast really deserved their nickname "headhunter weapon". whenever i played with the nightstar in my lance, it destroyed almost every opponent with a head shot. frightening!
if it wont be implemented, i probably will take the good `ol Warhammer. or a missile boat variant of the marauder... hmmm

Mediums and Heavies. Heavies are big enough to make a difference, but usually not big enough to steal the show. Mediums for when I want to be just another face in the crowd.

The problems with Lights and Assaults, in my opinion, is that in either kind of mech, you're always on top of the hit-list. Lights are always singled out for death first because of the sheer havoc a well-used light mech can cause. Assaults are singled out for death because of the pure intimidation factor "Atlas! ATLAS! Everyone target the ATLAS! FIRE EVERYTHING, NOW!"

I would never go for anything lighter than a medium. Simply put, the more ferro fibrous the better.

I don't have any idea what I'll pilot until I see MWO weapon stats, mech availability, and custimization options.

I've spent way too much time reading mech lists and comparing stats between TT and the many flavors of MW4.

Until I see how they impliment it and run a quick demo I have no solid concept of what is available to choose from and how much I'll like it.

Before MWLL I was always more of a soldier mech in the upper med and lower heavy range but given how much I stick to information warfare as a light mech or smaller medium imagine I will be running in a light for this game unless I can find some really good electronic packages in the heavier ranges.

I prefer heavies, and if I can help it, faster ones. 'mechs like the Dragon that can take and give damage while still keeping up a good enough pace to avoid incoming fire.

I really like the medium 'Mechs. They're usually quite fast and can be surprisingly powerful despite their size. Besides, some of my favourite 'Mechs are mediums, so why not pick 'em?
