A warm welcome to MWO! You've picked a good time Posted Image

Here are other discussion threads that answer your question...
please discuss further in those thread (and not in this discussion thread);

From your 3x mech stable, you seem to prefer Heavy/Assault mechs!
(As do I).

Unless you are a VERY GREEN Cadet, you should be able to get at least 2 loot bags for 1 match. One for 100 match score and another one for 100 damage !

Experienced MechWarriors should be able to get the 250 loot bags in less than 75 matches.

GOOD MechWarriors may be able to get the mech in less than 50 matches.

Exceptionally good Mechwarriors may even be able to do the 250 loot bags in 10-25 matches, especially with FACTION play matches.
Playing Faction, It may even be THEORETHICALLY possible to get more than 250 loot bags in less than 10 matches, although I doubt that someone manages to get matchscores >1111 9 times in a row !

7500 AS7-KR
7500 FNR-WR
7500 KGC-KJ
7500 MAD-AL
7125 BNC-SR
7125 COR-BR
7125 COR-RA
6750 CP-S
6750 SNV-BR

My current favorits are the CP-S, FNR-WR and KGC-KJ as I already have the AS7-BH, COR-BR, HGN-HM, NSR-WP, MAL-KO, VTR-DS and CGR-N7

PS: I dont want Clan-Mechs, even as they are more expensive:

MC Clan-Mech
9375 DWF-UV
8910 EXE-CH
8440 BAS-RA
7970 WHK-NQ
7500 GAR-KW
7500 KDK-SB

thanks for putting together the list!
Because of his ECM, I took the FNR-WR Posted Image

You have a month of doing this... (since July 5th)...

If you are still struggling and have CBills to burn, also suggest deploying well placed UAV very near the bulk of enemy force is and it does not get shot down, netting lots of scouting, ECM Counter, UAV locked damage, etc. which when done well would significantly increase your match score.

Also use Heavy/Assaults and concentrate on doing:
1) Raw damage of 800+ per game would single handedly bring you up to '~400' match score
2) Getting Kill Assists 8+ per game also helps bring up your match score significantly.
(Even equipping AMS shooting down enemy missiles can also net you Kill Assist when enemy dies)
ymmv

Good luck!

One side effect of a lot of the recent changes is that many players that used to heavily rely on LRM builds have swapped those out for SRM's, rockets, or MRM's, or switched entirely to autocannons, PPC's and lasers with omnipod capable mechs instead.

Real shame too, because what used to be one of the easiest ways to get a ton of match score was to play a frontline support mech with AMS, ECM, weapons with a decent fire rate, UAV's ect. The purifier kitfox was excellent for that, giving you a kitfox that could hit hard and fast at a variety of ranges while providing active AMS and ECM support for your team. Now it's been relegated to second liner or not really seeing much use at all, specifically because of how much rarer missile weapons of all types are.

It really depends on what Tier QP you are playing in.

In T4 QP, I was recently shocked at how much MRM/SRM and especially LRM was being deployed, as viewed from
my 2xAMS MAD-6S(P) from the Platinum Collection. Hardly saw any ATM boats however.

Many see the WEIGHT of ATM-Launchers and then go back to LRM ;-P
But in my opinion the RANGE and damage potential at closer range are worth the heavy weight.
Clan players also dont like the Minimum range ( unlike Clan LRM which only do less damage at shorter ranges ).

When comparing LRMs to ATMs, you must always consider that ATMs have Artemis included in every launcher. That adds to the weight.

I honestly hardly saw homing weapons since I went back, to the point that AMS iron-domes are hardly useful being brought TBF.

Maybe the cauldron made homing weapons too risky to bring with the multitude of counters it has. Especially the ECM, it's so ******* common.

Just one thing, can someone give me a tip on what mech to buy next that is beginner friendly please?

Buy a huntsman and run it with streaks. that should be good fun for a beginner!

Unless someone blocks his Streaks with ECM ;-P
Better use ATM or a IS mech with MRM !
