Aha. So you did buy it for the blatantly overtuned quirks that were so obviously overtuned it's a wonder it ever got released. See that's your problem choom; you went for the p2w apple.

For what other reason would there be to buy it? Other than the quirks its just another cbill mech? Posted Image

The unique combination of hardpoints? the +30% cbill bonus? the paint-job looks cool? I don't know, there are multiple reasons...
The quirks are here to make a mech viable, not to turn it overpowered, especially a P2W mech.

So why did they ship it with what everyone ~including~ them called op quirks?

My guess is they over-estimated the impact of the spread negative quirk. Hence tomorrow's adjustment being mostly spread.
Still, it was a mistake, and a shame PGI don't want to make balancing hotfixes before the following month.

Heh, well I'd say the changes effect a bit more than just the spread and basically nerf the three main builds that were actually viable. Now its just going to be another cbill mech with fancy colors and a battlepass. Well, ok I guess, but I wouldn't have bought it with the adjusted quirks. Caveat Emptor! Posted Image

Just wait how it plays.

However, I can understand the nerfs. The mech was insane and I didn't buy it because I knew what was coming

Or most likely if these quirks were in the mech from the get go we wouldn't have had any drama and people would have still bought it like now.

It still has insane cooldown quirks you know. Wanna deal focused damage akin to the old version? Get closer. Thats the balancing factor now. And it already was scary with the 4-5 SRM2s in your face. It will still be the best Shadowhawk in the game.

Also remember it still has no jj shake, LAA or HA.

Well thats nice. I still wouldn't have bought it with the revised stats. Others might so have fun.

The theme of the scattershot was wide spread, fast fire rate, fast velocity.

Because the spread quirk is percentage based, and LBX2 has a lower base spread, it meant nothing for the main build, and the 50% velocity quirk on top effectively turned the scattershot into a sniper with more range than any other sniper in the game. reaching to 2km with meaningful damage, and high dps.

The nerf has actually been very small when it comes to dps. (35% to 25% cooldown for LBX and 30% to 25% cooldown for missiles)
Main nerf was to Velocity and small caliber weapon spread (so it's not utilized for sniping). Mech still has its ridiculous dps like before.... and even then, the fastest velocity quirk of all shadowhawks.

I'm a little surprised to see so many people making excuses for this. It's a shady business practice, plane and simple. No excuse of "they didn't know any better" is acceptable. If you pay real money for a product then you should receive that product and it should remain as you received it. If it turns out it was too OP, then you stop selling it, don't change the one already in peoples hands.

No, I did not buy a Scatter Shot. Nor do I plan to buy any other new mechs until I'm sure what I'm going to end up with.

You say this but this has been done for years, and only now are people somehow complaining en masse because the nerf happened quicker than it had in previous years on older products.

Sounds like people are just upset they didn't get more time to abuse an obvious and blatantly overpowered mech in the game wouldn't you say?

And it's obvious this would happen, anyone that isn't blind could see this from a mile. Do they care? No. They only care when it is pertaining to their fun and not the others fun in a game where everyone has to share the same playground to play. But that's easy to forget and blame others for the misgivings.

I cant believe pgi is doing this to me. Now I will only be able to get 5 kills 6kmdd instead of 6 kills 7kmdd. Literally unplayable waste of money

How are you sheep so damned compliant with whatever the "brains" decide. Seriously though, well PGI has always done it this way.. or well if it's wrong the Cauldron will surely fix it. Don't release cash grab ****. Figure out a way to play test it first. This is a **** way to do business, and you're gonna hurt your player base, that actually WANTS to support you, buy buying your stuff, instead of just playing for free. Don't screw your paying members.

I have purchased plenty. Leaving Scattershot as is screws me and others like me over.

It's not an excuse and its not a shady business practice. Quirks are always subject to change, they literally have been from day one. If you buy something for the quirks that is your mistake. I could understand if the flavor of the quirks were COMPLETELY altered to something entirely different, but they were weren't.

I bought the Scattershot and just didn't like the stand and spam playstyle that much, but if that IS your cup of tea then have no fear, it's going to keep doing that for you. Don't think you are entitled to an overpowered mech just because it's quirks were a bit too strong on release.

if your going to quote me, at least read what i said.

If I went to a dealership and bought a car because it could do 200mph. then when at the dealership a few months later, they de-tune it to a limit of 150mph. I would be furious and no excuse of "well its still fast" would be acceptable.

If they detuned the car because someone was blazing down the freeway at 200mph when they shouldn't have been and the police couldn't catch them because their cars top out at 165 and they killed a family in their minivan with their driving...

If the car can be pushed to 200mph but starts to become completely uncontrollable or shake itself apart past 155...

etc.

And yes it would be acceptable, you would just stamp your feet and refuse to accept it because you think you should be the king of the road or something.

Nobody knew what the scattershots actual performance would be like in game when they bought it. They knew they were getting a mech that fired faster and spread more, and they're still getting that.
