Would love some of them to allow groups of 2, a good part of the enjoyment from games is socialising

You can still socialize. I think they are testing this as a possible precursor to limiting groups even more. Due to the tendency of elite pre-mades to roll stomp without mercy in QP and Faction when they face solo drops or new players. Spread the experience out a bit.

Wow solo only wtf seriously PGI? Thanks for the event but not even a group of like 2 or 3? That would definitely resolve the issue of a full 8 man or an imbalance and allow people to still play with their friends.... Sigh

On a side note at least you can claim the rewards by playing QP and playing the trial mechs isn't a bad move, but overall the event itself would have been great to duplicate the Faction Play we just had going which was fun as long as you didn't face the premade groups all the time in the queue.

this is one of the worst, most frustrating events PGI. Playing unskilled, no consumable champs is frustrating against custom built, skilled mechs. It's no contest. I feel bad for new players trying to complete the event to get free stuff. Way to make any new players go away. Should be a Champions only Event Queue for this.

You can farm damage in QP for the event, no need to drop EQ only.

E: guess what? It didn't count the damage from that QP match at all. Funny. Went to events page on the site, redeemed it there. In game tracker is borked. Wasn't that a problem with the FP event too?

Can one put trial mechs in their drop deck? From your comment it seems you can - in which case it would appear the event could be done without owning a single one of those champion mechs. That'd be nice!

I totally read the event wrong at first. Thought I had to accumulate that much match score in each trial mech. Nope just have to do the damage in the trial, so not as hard as I thought it would be. Should be interesting to say the least.

So, with event queue gone, I have to play these trial mechs in quick play. I can barely keep my PSR slowly climbing when playing skilled, custom built, consumable equipped mechs. With Trial Mechs, I would not be surprised to be back in tier 5 by Monday...

You need 500 dmg per trialmech. Don't be so overly dramatic.

The Cyclops has been the most painful so far. Mainly because everyone shoots you before you get in range.

Also what the heck is the Dad Bot cockpit item? Can not seem to find it in my inventory.

Edit: I do not think any of the cockpit items are showing up if redeemed on the webpage.
