It's going to make bad matches painfully longer (the inability to escape a stomp without outright quitting and being hit with a matchmaking penalty is a large part of what killed Faction Play). If I'm in a terrible QP match, I can quit once I'm dead and go find a better one. If I can die and requeue early enough, I can avoid all the jokers that were just in my last match. If I'm stuck playing three more 'mechs (or I'm leveling two and they're both locked to the match I just quit), it's going to make finding a new better match that much harder.

Why is it you think they will allow you to drop in 4 mechs.. Just because a drop deck is there doesn't mean we will get an event style drop deck.. Events usually run out of time anyway before we can use all four mechs..

I assumed (maybe wrongly) that Quick play drop decks will allow us to add four different mechs but still only pick one a match.. The timer is too short for 4 mechs..

I don't think they will do both. They might make a few small changes to the maps and make them all close-quarters, forcing everyone to use short-range weapons :) I'm not that optimistic about it Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

I wish... I very much doubt that will happen though.

That's nice gramps, but this is a video game that one use lore as flavor for the game other than that, I welcome the a Timberwolf battlemech it atleast it's a unique change and grants more leeway compare to last time they released a hero omnimech, and guess how that turned out.

Okay, I could accept a few things. The main trouble is that both PGI&Cauldron (or any of them combinatnions\setups) again dashed forth without thinking. They just jumped off the window not considering how many **** is in the pool they would land into. A patch per month with two new whatevers per month, that is what they do. Why?!
To avoid that little time what "consideration" consumes? Always in a hurry, just dash without thinking a bit and THAT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM HERE!
Want some battlemech version of omnis? Why not take one what do exists and could be explained? Dunno, like Blackhawk or Koshi? Both are non-omni versions of existing omnimechs! Easy and logical picks? Sure!
Hmmm... Maybe that is the reason they neglected them? Or just lack the "know the lore" part?
Seriously said there were many options but they decided to bash their head into the wall and "we make this because we just the because!"
Holla for them homegirl!
<well, she did "Holla">
But IF they so stick'd to da Timby-boy oh-so badly... Look, the current look is an OMNIMECH, deal with it! Omnis looks as they do because their build-up\setup of equipments. If you "unlock" those you literally and necessary alter the overall shape! I doubt they would create a new model for the Howl albeit THEY MUST. Omnis are bulkier and if you revert them to a mere, inferior, obsolate version their look became more primitive. Revert them is essentially a f**kin' redesign!
So, yes, I were perhaps offensive. But when such things could be evaded by a few minutes of thinking who may not became angry and offensive? Or they just love all the harsh-speak they receive for such things? I know, BDSM is also a sexual minority and pride&suchz...
The Timberwolf were a bad choice for reversion without a new model. It is not some mock-up. But they threw the lore and BT\MechWarrior franchise out of the window long since...
I am very unsure about them and their deeds, seriously.
And I still say: I only buy Howl if that would be an omni! Without the chance of swapping arm-pods or suchz it is quite a meaningless design. A buffed Catapult with clantech weapons.
And if they are so boned around tech-switching: Really add 10 tons for Firestarter and Blackjack to make them OMNI! You dig this hole for yourselves, PGI! You have literally no more excuses not to have IS omnis ingame! Now it is a MUST thing for you no matter if you like it or not!
Stuffs and consequences (like I would be more hated after this again, but meh! Sometimes this must happen to force things into any directions - but the direction is now UP 2 U!)...

...

Sorry, I ended up more de®pressed again that I wanted...

Duke I also am seriously considering not spending money on a non omni Timberwolf. Mechwarrior 2 got me hooked, I got into the tabletop and have been playing since I was 8 years old. Yeah I'm in my 40s now but if we just completely abandon lore then are we really playing in this franchise or are we just playing walking world of tanks? If they do add IS omnimechs hells yes I will spend my cash on them in a heartbeat and love every second of someone torso farming me in a sunder or avatar. But to bastardize the timberwolf one of the most beloved designs is just wrong.

Admit it, you just want it to be an omnimech timberwolf so you can cheese out the hardpoints even more. It's all about the overpowered clan super-hardpoint-count idiocy.

Maybe for some people but all of my clan mechs are stock variants or made into stock variants that are available in lore. Easily found on sarna.net

Those complaining about lore do know that the video games were never canon right?
Let them have a special new fun TBR, no it's not meta, no it's not "Correct lore", but it does look like fun and that's what counts in video games.

And honestly if they moved 2 of the missle points 1 in each st to 1 in each arm and moved the ballistic points to have 2 in each St then what's different than having hero omnipods. You're still limited to locked masc and jj. So there's still plenty of give and take.

[BUG] not showing consumbales correctly to team members.

[BUG] every day crashes as standard even with a new machine, not submitting any report, because it doesn't seem like a priority to PGI last years.

[Cheat] i have seen one clear wall-hack user on my side of the teams.

I cringe at the idea of drop decks being used for quickplay. After initial contact in the first actual fight of the match, one team tends to get an advantage and the game rolls from there. Yes there can be reversals but those are the exception, not the norm. Adding drop decks usually wont help offset that because the replacement mechs will be slowly feeding in piecemeal. This will just drag out a bad situation into an even longer bad situation. The team that gets initial advantage will just turn matches into a kill feed. This does not sound like fun.

To folks complaining about the new Timberwolf/Madcat. This is not the hill to die on for the game! The Battletech universe is a large area with lots of people doing lots of crazy things. A group finding an old shot out Madcat and rebuilding it, but not getting the damaged Omni system working is the sort of odd thing that the BT environment can readily grasp. Remember this is a Legendary (ie Hero MK2.). It is not a production run model. Even the pain scheme looks like something a Merc/Pirate/Periphery group would put on their mech. Remember PGI put production run non canonical mechs into the game already! This offense is minor and easily explainable within the BT universe. If it still bothers you, just Role Play a good Clanner and Primary this offense to your Clan dignity.

Also for folks not liking IS using Clan stuff, remember we already have the Bounty Hunter version of the madcat.

This version of the Timberwolf hard points can be easily duplicated with existing omni pods in game. The only real things of note are:
1. That obviously going to be nerfed 80% ATM range bonus. (Maybe PGI is using this as a limited test bed for future ATM tweaks?)
2. MASC added to the Timberwolf frame.
3. We can change engine/structure/armor on the Timberwolf.
I suspect 1 is going to be dealt with within the month. Numbers 2 and 3.... They aren't that huge of an issue. If it helps just pretend its a misshapen Orion IIC.

Well maybe I will take your advice. It looks like something a filthy freebirth would do to one of the glorious machines of the Children of Kerensky. We will reave them from every planet and curse their ashes.

(There is my good clanner attitude ;))

Once again, the quirks on the Clan mechs.. rock solid.. only a +80% range for ATMs. However a +2 HSL for LPPC's for the Quickdraw which only has four slots for energy weapons, so ya... somewhere there is a lost LPPC looking for a home on the Quickdraw which cant be mounted.

Not to mention one of the lowest mounted ballistic hardpoints in the game, awesome, stellar, good job.

The Desperada is basically a Quickdraw 5K with some extra quirks with the same weapons: four blue lasers.

There could have been a lot of more thought put into that one, but at this point in the game... we are still wishing too much. Much like the rescale.

I got the Howl, wasn't going to until i checked the numbers for slots i wanted in a few particular builds. So, it fills a niche in my Timby collection.
Naturally, if the 80% ATM gets nerfed, people will and should cry foul. But, IMO, to get that range will need someone spotting and LOS to target. Ive done a few builds in mechlab, and it can do some stuff.
Sad than in todays game, no ECM, but time will tell how popular this is.

I believe that the HSL values for LPPC (and the other PPCs as well) include LGs (and the other Gauss Rifles) and vice versa. So the new Quickie will be limited to 4LPPC and 1LG or 1Gauss (assuming that fits) without GH. Sure they could have phrase it different (LG HSL +4, I think) but it makes no practical difference as it is hard point limited either way.

I was definitely stumped when noticed that the new Timby is a battlemech. And as predicted this will cause outrage.
