Did anyone see the new details about the upcoming weapons next patch? Very exciting stuff.
In summary, HAG, Xpulse, and Binary lasers are coming. Details in the video/stream/thread below:

Special thanks to my very dear friend Ash Cord for doing the interview with Mr PGI.

Did he basically say we're getting MWO2 without saying we're getting MWO2?
Cuz I think he did.

where did you pick that up?
got a time stamp?

The first time, he's talking about all the mechwarrior artists are great, in PGI's other teams (plural). Just Call Me Gash raises 1 eyebrow.

The second time, he said something, I forget what, will have to wait for future Mechwarrior titles (plural).

The third time, talking about command consoles.. He said he will look into it when he has a time-- Gash says in 2 years lol (about the time MWO2 would be releasing).

Could be a sign of low testosterone. You might need hormone replacement therapy, maybe?

Lasvom, Laser MG and Clan RAC.

It's... modestly novel by appearance. I did ask if new nonweapon stuff was in the cards and that's unlikely for a few reasons, but not impossible. I don't think these are game changers, just filling holes in the current weapon role roster sort of.

So the way they're implementing HAGs aren't quite the Clan RAC that everyone keeps describing. More akin to AC/s with pre-charge. It's still a single shot with multiple projectiles, rather than holding a button to create a non-stop stream of bullets.

again IS gets more weapons than clan... i mean they could have padded it out with Locust IIC or UrbanmechIIC or streak Lrms ... but FINALLY HAGS YES FINNALLY... all games even mw5 (Via mods) and MWLL has had them but not mwo...

Clan Racs would work the exact same as IS ones weight less but take up one more slot.....

I still think the Hags should fire like Racs with a short charge/spinup then the bar fills until you empty all the shots you can let go in between to not fire all of them but the bar does not reduce this way you can't keep it constantly firing. though i wonder if LBx spread in the skill tree will apply to HAGs or if their going to add it later to the skill tree. also i really want to see a Dire wolf D now... 2 hag 40's 2 medium pulse a er small and a streak 6.

Kind of disappointed there's no light rifles for mediums and lights that have cannon amounts and locations for hardpoints and no decent options to make those mechs useful/enjoyable.

Indeed. I'm really wondering if they're going to be in the UAC ghost heat group, 'cause 2x HAG30 and 2x UAC/10 sounds painful... and maybe unbearably hot, but definitely painful.

If X-Pulses are in the pulse laser family and Binary Lasers are in the standard large laser family, then does that mean that those types of quirks will work on them? Like will the Mjolnir's medium pulse HSL quirk let me take more medium x-pulses than normal? If so, are there mechs with such quirks where the new weapons will be better for them?

Yes, this is my understanding. Frostbyte demonstrated binary lasers on a STK-4N (which gets laser HSL and large laser HSL) and was able to fire 4 binary lasers without ghost heat triggering.

As far as what's going to work well with what mech... Experimentation is the only way to find out really

Suddenly I fear that ballistic and missle weapons will go the way of the dodo (extinct)
I foresee everyone boating lasers and only using mechs that can boat lasers.

Heh, they do look pretty wicked though!

"HAGs will use gauss family quirks"

HAG30 is 8 slots and 13 tons, making it only 1t heavier than the LBX20.

The Gausszilla has gauss quirks.

The Gausszilla can run quad 20s.

The Gausszilla can, therefore, probably do HAG120. 160 if you're willing to go slow :v

I think the opposite - dakka is going to have a place with and against all this in a few ways, and I’m looking forward to it.

The guys at PGI definitely wouldn't try to sell you on the notion they are "working" on something to keep you buying legendary packs.

If they were actually working on MWO2 they could/would just announce it and work out some sort of early adopters exchange for purchases between now and then.
Other than legendary pack, which clearly a portion of people are going to buy regardless, there's no reason to not announce it if its in the works.

HAGs are Clan tech.
