PGI enounced a few days ago that they will make some public announcement this week. Maybe they will change the user.cfg. file or perhaps they will rewrite the rules regarding its modifications. I suggest that you just wait for that upcoming announcement.

Anyways, I disagree that the comparison with other c/s multiplayer games isn't apt. In all of those games you can stuff a config with whatever you like and the server should and will override anything client side it needs to.

Really, I think we're in agreement that if something that shouldn't be changed can, then it should be fixed. And I think most would agree that the vegetation and water stuff is exploitative.
