Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_423.zip

 • Download the above file(s)
 • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
 • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
 • Launch the MWO Portal
 • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
 • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
 • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
 • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
 • Click the blue Patch button
 • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
 • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

I've only done a quick readthrough, but there seems to be a lot of good stuff in this patch! Several of my favorite mechs get positive tweaks so I'm excited to try them out. Many players will doubtless say "great, but what about this other thing I wanted?", and there is likely a never-ending list of changes you'd like to make, but this patch looks like solid work to me.

(I should add though: I had kinda hoped the Marauder Legendary would be some kind of reference to the Black Marauder, which would have fit the spooky theme really well. But the Blight seems to bleed when shot, so maybe I wasn't far off?

Seems to be a good patch. Mostly buffs. And I'm happy for the buffs to the Charger. I hope we get another IS medium legendary next month. Perhaps something similar to a Scaleshot.

So what was wrong with the Lilly pads? They've been a constant aesthetic on that map for nearly a decade, and made for an interesting variation on combat as compared to elsewhere on that map.

Two things!

The lilypads were exploitable via user.cfg changes and players could see through them. They would offer no visual cover for some. We decided to remove them and remake the area to create a more balanced landscape between players who use user.cfg changes and players who don't.

We forgot to include it in the patch notes, but the bolton for the Vapor Eagle is glowing eyes. Here's a picPosted Image

That Blight is looking awfully good to me. I might get it instead of War Emu.

Love the mech buffs, the Arrow and the Locust 3S especially.

Good to see the Bog .cfg xploit getting addressed.

I do NOT understand why the HAGs are getting buffed. They seem pretty dominant in most matches that I play. I don't think there is a mid-long range weapon I see more of, and none that are doing more damage than these things.

THANK YOU for showing the bolt-ons installed ahead of time. I noticed this on the September Legendaries but forgot to comment.
I will keep suggesting that the battlepass page for the legendaries in the store allow one to hear the warhorn as well.

Also: THANK YOU for unlocking the bolt-ons for legendary mechs. Does this go both ways, for example a War Emu can install normal Stalker ghillie bushes, AND a normal Stalker could install the War Emu feathers? That would make the most sense, but I wanted to clarify,

Great idea we really need to limit exploits like that from the .cfg file the only thing it should do is increase preformance and help with long range aiming at most but it should not allow seeing through walls or foliage.

i'll have to test out the hag buffs when the patch drops

Though i think some clan mechs need some small buffs timberwolf maybe? just a tad more ct armor??

The War Emu will be able to equip stalker bush boltons, but an STK-7D cannot equip stalker feathers. The unique legendary boltons are locked to the legendary variant only. This also does not include the hero variants, it has to be the (LGD) variant.

Hmmm… timber wolf… one of the strongest laser vomit heavies in the game getting an armor buff?
Yeah I’m game.

only a tiny armor buff. maybe not armor but something else?? i dunno does the missile pod buff still work?

The other thing that i've really thought about is some way to restore the dire wolf's speed at least up to 50kph is there a way to apply a speed boost via quirks? though this may open up a can of worms so I dunno.

More HAG weapon spread reductions, are you insane? These weapons absolutely do not need less spread; they need more. They're basically MRMs with much higher velocity, less spread, double the range and less heat. Posted Image

Not a fan of more HAG buffs - these are still too strong.

Yes, iirc 6 months after their introduction they'll get added to the ingame shop as a hero mech available for MC. They can't equip the battlepass boltons of the (LGD) version though.

A lot of stuff, yet the single thing that makes me the happiest is the proper barrel call for HAGs...

I'm not one to normally complain about patches with this game but I want to voice I am not a fan of this change:

LCT-1M:

 • Removed SRM/SSRM Ammo per ton bonus

The 1M has a fun build with 2XSSRM2 and 2X SPL/SPXL that is only viable due to the ammo buff. Is it really that unbalanced with this? I get maybe you are trying to differentiate it from the 3S but an LRM build is a joke no matter what buff it has and Osiris probably better at MRMs because it has JJs. What is the expected 'meta' build for this chassis now?

I'm surprised BJ-A is getting buffed even more. Its my favorite mech I spent MC on and it seems plenty strong as-is but hey I am not privy to win rates per chassis.

Only thing i am not agreeing with (right now) is the Pirate bane with the seismic 150m and armor buff

to me 350m seismic is a bit much for a stealth mech granting too much freedom/control

CLAN HYPER ASSAULT GAUSS RIFLE 30<p style="">
 • Reduced projectile spread to 0.08 (from 0.155)
 • Increased Heat to 10 (from 9)

Despite people complaining about it, it sounds like a step in the right direction but mainly for short range combat where hags lack the punch. Try wielding dual x40 hags in a dire in close range combat and suddenly they are useless. First of all, I believe they pick up velocity and hit tighter at mid to long range (remember, this game has real physics involved, like in some cry engine game a giant whacks you and what do you do? you fly to the sky because the stick is heavy and the strike is heavy but you are lightweight in comparison), but for some reason they don't do much at close range. And that is my two cents from my personal experience. I think tightening spread would help at close range, despite decent bombardment type of damage at mid to long ranges. It feels like AC20 when you shoot them.. projectiles are soo very slow moving, so it won't hurt it to have a little buff in spread tightness regard. If only X-pulse and binary were relevant weapons--people try them and go meh, even if you boatload them, and x-pulse doesn't even counts much towards your damage score because the damage is so tiny. HAGS are the most useful and used weapons of the three new ones released, in my opinion, but they could use a little more love.

Does buying Dreadnaught & Scattershot using MC qualify for the IS & Clan Legend Reward?
