MAPS
As a result of the feedback from the map polls, the following changes have been made:
  • Hellebore Springs and Alpine Peaks rotation weights have been reduced
  • Viridian, Terra, and Hibernal rotation weights have been increased
  • Frozen City Classic Day has been removed
  • Frozen City Classic Night rotation weight has been increased
  • Forest Colony Classic and Forest Colony Classic Snow have been temporarily removed (see USER.CFG below)
GAME MODES
As a result of the feedback from the game mode poll, the following changes have been made:
  • Incursion has been removed
USER.CFG
  • As the possibilities of user.cfg changes are becoming more common throughout the community, we’ve also removed Forest Colony Classic and Forest Colony Classic Snow from the map rotation until we can repair the issue on those maps
  • We are currently working on a fix for Viridian Bog that should be in the October patch, so that map is remaining in rotation
  • Changes made in user.cfg do not impact the gameplay of the maps used in MWO Comp Championship Series 2023

BUG FIXES
  • Targeting computers will now affect X-Pulse Lasers, Binary Laser Cannon and Hyper Assault Gauss Rifles

KNOWN ISSUES
  • HAGs are using LBx/UAC barrels instead of Gauss barrels. This has no gameplay impact, the weapons still function correctly.

Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

Patch File(s): - http://patcher.mwomercs.com/patch/Production/frontend/FrontendPatch_422.zip

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

MECHWARRIOR 5: CLANS ANNOUNCEMENT!
As a recent graduate of the Smoke Jaguar cadet program, MECHWARRIOR 5: CLANS immerses players in an epic tale set amidst a massive Invasion. Operation Revival catapults their Star to the forefront of a daring and perilous war aimed at reclaiming their rightful homelands from the tyrants and despots ruling the Inner Sphere. This expansive campaign unfolds across numerous planets featuring diverse biomes, showcasing meticulously designed maps and missions that deliver immersive gameplay and intricate combat encounters. In the first Clan-based MechWarrior game in nearly three decades, players find themselves at a pivotal moment of the MechWarrior universe, where the powerful Clans clash with the Great Houses, plunging the Inner Sphere into unparalleled chaos.

I am reposting some questions here, in case you missed them:

1) Will this game be available on GOG.com?

2) What steps are you going to take as not to repeat that previous MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries Epic/Steam/GOG preorder fiasco?

3) All these things (Clan invaders vs. other Clan invaders vs. Inner Sphere armies and mercenaries) have already been done in previous MechWarrior and MechCommander titles - specifically, MechWarrior 2: Mercenaries, MechWarrior 2, MechWarrior 2: Ghost Bear's Legacy, MechWarrior 3 and MechCommander 1 with its expansion pack.

What new features will your game bring? Tell us some reasons why we should pre-order your new game.

4) Will you offer some MechWarrior Online bonus for pre-ordering MechWarrior 5: Clans, like you did with the Marauder II?

5) Will you cooperate either with Catalyst Game Labs / Topps or Harebrained Schemes / Paradox? I am asking because for example CGL published a new housebook that follows the HBS' BattleTech characters and storyline.

6) Perhaps it would be a good idea to create some MechWarrior Online event too.

To be honest, you can leave Forest Colony Classic out of the game--well, QP anyway. It can remain for private matches, or events but it's just too small for 12v12. It was too small for 8v8 back in the day, especially with the much longer ranges weapons have today.
A happy medium would be to add on to the map making it 1.5 times larger or so. Try to keep the map mostly the same but push OOB back all around and fill in.

For those asking about loyalty, we’ve already leaked info on a few mechs in there.

The Jagermech DE will have no Upper Arm Actuators and will be designed around Heavy Gauss or LBx20 in the arms.
The Ice Ferret J is a lore variant. You can look that up on Sarna.
The Wolfhound C is a lore accurate Grinner. Clan tech variant.
The Jenner A is a lore variant. But it will have 50% energy cooldown and 49.9% laser cooldown, allowing a continuous beam.
The Adder W is inspired by the Adder S, a lore variant. That can also be found on Sarna. It is far from a faithful recreation, though.

As for the Piranha and Urbanmech, we’ll just have to wait and see!

So we ask. We ask. And still, we ask for the Herbie the UrbanMech IIC. And instead of a Pack, we get the Legendaries.

Now that the Mad Cat is out of the bag for the Urban Clanner. How about releasing the Non-Legends, hmmm?

One problem, HGR and iHGR, cannot be mounted on the arms. However, the LB-x 20 can.

Nice stuff. I'm not an urban mech fan, but these have a great look and i like the builds so I'll still grab them. Its always bothered me that most urbies end up running at regular light mech speeds anyway. Having a reason to run a slower urbie appeals to me.

Great idea on the Atlas too!

And great changes as usual, especially on the Bushwhacker and Orion.

Thats mostly because sub 170 engines give up a lot of speed for little tonnage. Lower engine cap would of course stop players from using 170-180 but it wouldn't get much weight to work with.

STALKER "WAR EMU" BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: TBD
VIPER "SCALESHOT" BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: TBD

The two three new Legendary 'Mechs this month include the Atlas "Warlord" and TWO new Clan UrbanMech IICs, the "Hashké" and "Abaddon" (see images below). Each 'Mech pack will sell for $15 USD on the website (The UrbanMech pack includes both 'Mechs for $15), and will also be available on Steam. Each Legendary 'Mech is a new variant of an existing chassis, has a custom paint job, and a 30% C-Bill boost.

You removed the mention of the "outlier quirk" finally.
Now if you'd just have a look at the 2 lines above the "The two three new Legendary 'Mechs ..." Posted Image

TRIAL 'MECHS
  • New (T)rial 'Mechs have a skill tree baked into the Quirks (not available for purchase

Great idea with the unbuyable (T)rial mechs. Took you long enough to get that idea. Posted Image

MAPS
  • Frozen City Classic Day has been removed
  • Forest Colony Classic and Forest Colony Classic Snow have been temporarily removed (see USER.CFG below)

USER.CFG</p>
  • As the possibilities of user.cfg changes are becoming more common throughout the community, we’ve also removed Forest Colony Classic and Forest Colony Classic Snow from the map rotation until we can repair the issue on those maps
</p>

Put the maps on permanent hibernation. Those that want to play them, can do so in private lobbies.

I designed the mech and put it in the game. It works, and that’s what it has Posted Image

They meant by lore/tabletop rules HGR may not be mounted in arms (even with crit splitting) due to the recoil. If that rule doesn't exist in MWO, well, some will have fun with this. (I'll try, but I'm probably too bad with this to continue playing it after mastering it.)

please keep incursion as a faction play only mode, it makes sense in fp and removing things from your game is the reason the community keeps shrinking please add more instead of taking away
