And now, we really hope you enjoy the patch!
-The MechWarrior Online Team

THE ANNUAL REWARDS INJECTION DATE IS NOV 21ST, MAKE SURE YOU QUALIFY FOR THE MECHS YOU WANT!

NEW LEGENDARY BATTLEMECH
PLEASE NOTE: REDEEM BATTLEPASS REWARDS ON THE WEBSITE STORE PAGE (UPDATED EVERY HOUR)

CENTURION "ONYX" BATTLEPASS REDEEM LINK: https://mwomercs.com/legends/onyx

The new Legendary 'Mech this month is the Centurion "Onyx" (see images below). The Onyx pack will sell for $15 USD on the website and will also be available on Steam. Each Legendary 'Mech is a new variant of an existing chassis, has a custom paint job, and a 30% C-Bill boost. Also included with each pack is the new mini battle pass system driven by 'Mech XP. Just by playing the 'Mech, you will earn GSP, C-Bills, MC, Premium Time, and exclusive Cockpit Items, Decals, Colors, and Bolt-Ons! However, unlike a typical battle pass system, there will be no expiration date to earn these extra items. Take as long as you need!

NEW MAP: BEARCLAW II
Krazzdaxx unveils his latest creation, the brand new map Bearclaw II, a unique mostly-underground map that is a 'Mech factory with aircraft, runways, buildings, tunnels, and lots of areas and angles to explore and approach the enemy! This map has drop ship deployment, and therefore will be available for drop deck events in Event Queue.

MECHLAB UPDATE: HOLIDAY THEME
While he was busy working on the new map, Krazzdaxx found a bit of time to add some holiday cheer to the MechLab, a first for MechWarrior Online!

Quirk swaps have been done to a couple mechs (TDR-5S and MAD-4A) to maintain their boosts to Binary Lasers (check quirk adjustments list).

EQUIPMENT ADJUSTMENTS
COOLSHOT CONSUMABLE:
  • Extra cooling duration Increased to 7.0 seconds (from 3.0)

COMMAND CONSOLE:
Item has been rebranded to Advanced Sensor Package. The Advanced Sensor Package is a specialized Inner Sphere Targeting Computer specializing in vision, targeting info, and sensor improvements. Unlike a normal targeting computer, which offers offensive boosts, the ASP provides tactical and visual benefits only. Like other targeting computers, you cannot carry more than one nor can you stack with other types of targeting computers. You won’t be able to carry a TC1 and an ASP.

Advanced Sensor Package Stats:
  • Can only be placed on Inner Sphere Heavies and Assaults, and only in the Head component
  • Slots: 1
  • Tons: 1.5
  • Sensor Boost: 10%

Patch Files (Direct Download)
To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game
  • Latest Overhauls Normalize Game Balance of Overpowered Weapons.

Gausszilla nerfs are extremely lame.

Another patch, another reduction in HAG spread.

At least it's coming with some hefty heat and cooldown nerfs, but still not the way I think these weapons should be balanced.

- Ammo per ton buffs are a welcome addition (especially that Heavy Gauss 7 to 8, now 1/2 ton bins are finally efficient).
- HAGs will definitely be much hotter, especially on HAGboats and HAGvom, so this is at least going to curb the HAGpocalypse a bit (hopefully).
- Gauszilla didn't need that nerf imo (I don't own one, for the record) ; seeing how the HAGs are going to be hot (plus coolshot nerfs), the HAGzilla would have been already nerfed enough. But we'll see.
- ONIONs are gonna be true to their lore now, as the poor man's Atlas.
- New 'Mech and map look dope.

All in all, I'm happy with this patch, and looking forward to try it out.

I just want to know if the ceiling on Bearclaw II is low enough to interfere with LRMs.

I like that the UACs/ACs/LBXs are getting more ammon per ton but...why not simply adjust the Magazine Capacity skill node?

Yes.
It provides 100 additional armor points, weight 4 tons and takes 5 slots.

Different sizes of weapon had different amounts of dmg worth or ammo per ton. Notice these changes aren't for 10 size ACs because those already had the most. These are bringing the others up to the same dmg/ton as those.

Buffing Ammo Magazine Capacity skill nodes would greatly help the HAG ammo situation Posted Image
(As if HAG's need anymore help!)

Comparing the values for the AC-20 and the LX-20 - on the AC-20, you go with 10 shots IS, 12 shots Clan. On the LBX-20, it's 12 shots IS, 10 shots Clan.

Is this intentional?

Word has it that the Loyalty Jagermech (JM6-DE(L)) is capable of fielding LBX20 in its arms,
which would be the very first time that MWO allows this on an IS mech.
(Currently as of this writing, none of the IS mechs can field the 11-slot LBX20 in its arms).

Larger ammo bins would also help this tonnage-starved medium mech JM6-DE(L) to become more viable Posted Image

(And would there be other future IS mechs capable of fielding LBX20 in its arms?)
