Hi!
Welcome to the Forums...
In all seriousness though. People are a little fed up with the "git gud" mentality and people just being horrible human beings for no other reason than their ego. This is a hobby with a competitive aspect. Not a competitive game with a hobby side. (incoming because I just said that....)

Yes, probably should be in a "stats" channel much like patch notes and "leaks" (which are pretty good at drumming up what little hype a game in maintenance mode can have). At least the search function in Discord is useful, A LOT more useful than search on these forums.

The search functionality PGI directs everyone to is garbage, yes.
There is a more useful one that takes a little digging to find: https://mwomercs.com...e&module=search

Thank you.
Sorely needed and greatly appreciated.
BTW....is there an RSS feed or someway to link any announcements given to an outside area say discord? Trying to create a news channel in discord so it stays up to date with both announcements from this website and any news stuff on the cauldron discord for a centralized place of info.

Exactly . That is what I meant when I wrote "becomes nothing more than a chatterbox" . Being on cauldron feedback discord for a while now, there is no doubt it is not a suitable tool to make providing information about the Game/balancing changes/topics being discussed re Balance a "cauldron discord exclusive" thing .

Nice, thanks !
Now make "Cauldron Feedback and Info" posts/threads a thing occurring at regular intervals ( right after patch would maybe a good moment ), provide Information about topics/issues/rationale behind decisions being made, and make sure the discord Link is included each and every time .

If someone steps up and voluntarily puts up some sort of monthly action report that akkumulates everything that is going on that discord, on a regular basis and for free, I'll happily talk with staff about pinning that to the very top of the general discussion board and I'll personally see to pin it there everytime.

As to searching the MWO forum, I’ve found that hitting up google and searching mwomercs.com for a phrase and limiting it by time is most useful.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: The problem in balancing LRMs is, specifically, NARCs. Nerf NARCs, make LRMs better weapons individually.

Much appreciated .
There just might be a small group of volunteers willing to do that . If so, they will step up .

Jup. Make Narc not hold line of sight, and in return buff tracking, lock on time, spread, velocity, missile health, ammo etc big. THEN lrm can be buffed without ruining cordinatedplay like fp.

Ill see what I can do. No guarantees in the sense that many things sorta happen when they happen. So its not like its like clockwork from what I have seen.

What would be better?
Getting behind cover and it actually being useful or just nerfing NARCs and NARCs just doing their thing still?
Personally. One of the biggest problems is the sense that you can try to get behind cover but because of the attack angle of LRMs said cover is pointless.
Seems to me like the arc and attack angle of indirect lrm fire is the main culprit here. Lessen that angle and even if you are NARCed you can still utilize cover properly.

Thanks. Didnt know it existed. Guess ill have to figure out how to get it to feed into a channel on a different server from here. Cheers

That's easy. Just invite the Bot to your server and tell him to post in a certain channel

Agreed. My opinion, make LRMs faster velocity and faster lock on times in direct line of sight only. Then they're like half damage MRM's with a minimum range that can sometimes fire indirect.
Not sure that can even be done with the current code base, though, particularly the separating direct and indirect velocities.

I've never seen anyone put out an 'LRMs are so OP' compilation that didn't involve a NARCer. Because without a NARC, they aren't -- they're the slowest moving projectile in the game, with all sorts of counters, and they deal hot sandblast damage. They even have volley duration on the Clan side, and as we all know by now, volley duration is all you need to buy zero spread and 2000m/s+ velocities in a balanced weapon. :v

By the time gauss charge came, ghost heat was already in place and everyone had switch to PPCs/UAC5s for the DPS. The 3 PPC+Gauss HGN was killed by ghost heat iirc because I don't remember it honestly having a long life. AC20 + PPC was the equivalent of SNAC in the current era, and the Shadow Hawk and I believe Misery were what used that, but those were brawling builds at the time and I don't remember them having a long life either due to various velocity nerfs around the same time.
I kinda wish the meta was chronicled somewhere, memory is fickle and it would be interesting to see the changes throughout MWO's history.
Shadowhawk could fit a UAC-5 and 2 PPCs, AC20 on it got paired with SRMs. The Shadowhawk was stupidly powerful when it came out, it replaced my Highlander more or less. But until then, AC-20 and PPCs with 1 JJ doing all the work and no shake was phenomenal. It deleted Cataphracts. Range didn't matter back then, it was all drops on Caustic, Frozen and Forest Colony.
