Agree with that.

Thunderbolts sounds cool but need some hitpoints to withstand AMS fire. Maybe it should take same fire like 20 individual LRM missiles?

What about Chemical Lasers? Beam Laser sounds similar.

Will we get special ammo for ACs? Or special missiles? Maybe slug for LBX? We will get bunch of new ammo anyway

At first I was like "The Clan plasma cannon is NOT described like that in canon or the Total Warfare rules." But seeing the mention about MechAssault's Plasma PPC, I'm guessing this is more of a homage to that game?

Also, beam laser? Also not a canon weapon, but the MekTek expansions also had that as a weapon.

The future seems somewhat like a love letter to past MechWarrior-series games. Or I'm reading into it too much

I'd like to see some love given to the mechs you never see on the battlefield in quick play anymore for the giveaway mechs.  Kintaro, Vindicator, Enforcer.

if its just another free champion variant, it doesn't matter. Maybe make the challenge different this time. No Matchscore or damage requirement - but instead:
"Win a match with ALL JUMP JET SKILL NODES ACTIVATED on a mech build"
"Win a match with ALL QUICK IGNITION NODES USED"
"Win a match with ALL AUXILIARY NODES USED"
"Win a match with ALL MOBILITY SKILL NODES USED."

I have a 4xcER-PPCs Executioner since 2022 and everybody told me it's dumb!

Plasma as cLPPC? May could work. We shall see.

Thank you PGI for the communi ation about upcoming changes. This is exciting stuff! The new weapons will add interest to the game and allow for a whole bunch of new options on existing mechs.
I think the new clan "beam laser" should instead be called the Heavy Tag
For a free mech in february, I agree that a chassis that doesn't show up a lot, and hasn't been given away recently, would be the best bet. Along with colours that haven't been given away recently as well.
What would it be like to have a couple of free mech options- maybe a clan and an IS- and allow the player to choose which to redeem?

Also interested to see how an XL285 Executioner is going to work out when swapping in all the other Executioner omni-pods. Only one way to find out

Victor looks fun too, although I hope there is some generous Armor and Structure added to that beam fist.

Yes but this should be a whole pack! Would be a good add for CJF DLC in MW5 Clans so I think it's a worthwhile add. Massive JJ quirks and then firepower/durability quirks to balance would distinguish it well from the Dire.

I really think it should just be a tiny bit to add flavor, I'd feel better if the primary role was just like a Clan LPPC.

I'm not too sure about those cooldown sacrifices unless mechs at the lower end within their respective weight class and maybe just Mediums and particularly Lights with Ballistic slots also get some Ballistic cooldowns quirks (maybe just for explicitly these new weapons) that turn those LACs / Proto ACs into an actual drop in for their respective standard versions.
