This is all so incosistent and confusing information.
Wasted my whole afternoon/early evening running Streak+ATM+ECM (on counter). Now i read it doesnt count if i do the damage myself.
I lost trust/confidence in this challenge.

Damn you devs for making such a vaguely defined challenge.

You're right, i have a active probe on that mach. Totally forgot about it, because i only use it when there are UAV spottings needed for an event.

I just received this achievement. I did it with Streaks and a beagle probe. Probe countered a lights ECM, I hit him with my missiles.....now I have "Nivida dawn" to put in a cockpit. FYI, you'll see "counter ECM" on your final score card.

yea im not on nvidia anymore so dawn doesnt even compute. and besides im jeleous of her figure i wish i could fit into that skimpy outfit of hers. sexytime me looks like the hulk stuck in a culvert.

dont think im even gonna bother with hits and runs, since i already have those items, and ams gets you an item that shills for a company i decidedly do not like. i shouldn't have to get a cloud account for a damn keyboard.

I also got the counter ecm locked damage reward in a match but the mission didn't complete. Seems bugged to me.

I also tried ECM, UAV, NARC nothing works.I have never used NARC so many times as now, it is not clear what trajectory it flies, sometimes it hits, sometimes it doesn’t - some kind of crooked device. I decided to just not do this part of the tasks and that’s it, anyway, I don’t use these branded things. LRM is now used very rarely, in about one in 4-6 games and by no more than 1-2 players. And I spent so many nerves in this game once again due to bugs of non-registration of damage and others.

Maybe it was just COUNTER ECM without locked damage? I only had COUNTER ECM and it is not taken into account in this task. Also i had UAV LOCKED DAMAGE one time.

I just tried getting this with a Kitfox streak build. I had ECM in my arm set to counter and the target was within touch range! The missiles would NOT lock on and fire! I will give it one more try, but that's it. I don't care enough about it to bother with more.

You simply have to Counter an ECM while being the spotter for alurmer.
The reason it is difficult is that there isn't much indirect lurming happening anymore.

fwiw I got it with a huntsman, streaks + probe + tag. Took a few tries (after LOTS of tries in other mechs).

Actually using an ECM in counter mode was more trouble than it's worth, never worked for me. Narc'd a million mechs, nada. In one game I was sure I'd done a lot of countering, but I only got 'UAV locked damage' - so I stopped using my UAVs, in case this overrides 'counter ECM locked damage' when both apply.

then why even include it? Are they testing to see how often this happens or something? Any ******* challenge that requires another party's cooperation is ASKING for aggravation. Wasted multiple matches on this horseshit.

What kills me is that I don't even CARE about the item, I care about one thing: completing the checklist.

i do find this task a bit perplexing because folks are now discussing in voice comms how they are not playing ecm to deny others the opportunity to get the achievement. if none of the opponents 12 mechs equipped an ecm - you have zero chance to finish. kinda like score 1 kill on a dire wolf and nobody plays a dire wolf for the course of the event... meta denial? poorly implemented objective on dev's part.

It's for a functionless cosmetic. I wouldn't lose sleep over it.

I only recently realised I had a bunch of 5% Cbill and XP items unused, no idea where they even came from. Going to assume not a counter ECM event.
