It seems DoA to me, forced IS-XL means absolutely no chance that any KU would survive a side torso loss. About the only good build on it is massed medium lasers. Nobody is going to run UACs since IS UACs weigh FAR too much and 2x UAC 5s is the absolute max you can do. Nobody ran ACs on the IV-4, so why would anyone do it on this pile of junk?

2 matches in, lost a leg in one [survived] and got CT'd by a machine gun boat light second round. also: does IV-4 have sub 0.5 CD autocannons?

It's very fragile, has terrible mount locations, and currently suffers from "shiny new mech, kill it!" syndrome. Once that last one goes away, it might be scary if you can play a little sneaky with it. I'm having a lot of fun with it, like a more extreme version of the CTF-4X.

Four 'Mechs ... the first Inner Sphere OmniMech in MWO ...

Since I have seen some Black Hawk-KUs in the game, I would say that some players probably find the price acceptable.

"Shiny new mech, kill it!" syndrome, you say?

I remember the times when any freshly added 'Mech had literally a price on its head put by PGI. Posted Image

It was one of the worst PGI's ideas ever conceived. You bought a new 'Mech for cash, dropped in the game and were instakilled by ten enemy players that cared about anything else ... because PGI rewarded all players for the destruction of your new 'Mech.Posted Image

Found them decent so far. legs seem squishy but if you dont get blown out you can get some damage racked.
personally I hope they add in other legal varients like the A, and obviously the B C and D. the E varient is pretty much the OX, minus the TC1 and 2 lasers. they could have done that instead of OX honestly. the F has 2 lppcs and a heavy. C3 could be swapped with a TC equivalent at this point for any mechs carrying either slave or master C3 systems. G uses more advanced ECM/BAP so maybe just regulars with a heat sink and quicking targeting /ecm related skills. oh wait the OX is swapping the C3 slave for a TC1, with the extra heat sinks in place of coolant pods.

Thank you for the description of yoour experience with the 'Mech.

I have got one question for you: Does the Black Hawk-KU have factional liveries available? Like Free Worlds League, Lyran Alliance, etc.?

Mech is hardpoint & tonnage starved with those two ballistics slot selected.

But sure it has stupidly high dps with just 2xUAC5 which already requires heavy armor stripping.

i don't think they released the pricing information as of my post. i actually looked around and couldn't find it before posting. $20 packs are reasonable.

Matt Newman announced the pricing on Saturday:

Just saw JayZ and his teammate playing the BHKU-OX(S), and they both got 1200+ damage and the highest match scores in the game! ;)
