Not sure the issue?

Guy who did some capping and slightly more damage got slightly higher score.

Kills/assists don't make a lot of difference to score (as they shouldn't). You get an assist for doing
like 10 pts of damage to someone who later dies.

so a single point of damage + 2 seconds of cap time = +63 match score
ok...

Well since we cannot see their after match results, we can only make some guesses. it could be that they got more kmdds

Without seeing all the other results, yes it very well could.
Its not just damage and cap time that contribute to match score. There is a full breakdown
on the end of match screen I believe.

A good UAV deployment with lots of scouting & ECM counter may also pad up one's match score.
Perhaps did lots of KMDD (Kill Most Damage Dealt), which seems likely in this case.

But OP's raw scores seem reasonable to me; nothing out of the ordinary (sorry, these things happen...)

things like flanking and hit and runs can also add up. kills without the kmdd also do not pay out as much, and solo kills stack on top of both. kmdd can also stack with assists if you did not get the kill. i guess the idea is to reward the biggest contributors or spread it out if it was a team effort.

there is a list somewhere.

Triggers listed below. Approximately 46% of damage is converted into Matchscore points.. Team damage is a negative MS points. For those "sniping" they end up missing out on several of the triggers.

Yeah like Tarl Cabot said I'd first ask if you shot any friendlies by accident. It drops MS quite fast.

that would seem very unlikely as damage seems to reward more points than kills.

He was in a warlord, so very likely a brawling build. Score kickers for brawling and protected proximity add up.
