Patch Files (Direct Download)

To make the patching process easier for players with limited download caps, we'll be providing direct download links for the patch file(s) that comprise this patch. This will allow you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, for manual injection into the MWO patcher through a Patch Cache folder.

Aside from allowing you to download the patch file(s) elsewhere, on another connection, there are no additional benefits to performing the patch this way; the patching process itself will be the same.

This direct patch download process will only work for players running the standalone client. It does not apply to players running MWO through Steam.

  • Download the above file(s)
  • For sake of ease, we recommend creating a dedicated folder for the patch file(s), such as 'MWO Patch Cache'
  • You do not need to unzip or unpack the patch file(s)
  • Launch the MWO Portal
  • Select the three horizontal lines in the top left of the Portal Window
  • Choose the 'Specify Patch File Cache' option
  • In the field that appears, paste or enter the location in which you saved the patch file(s) and hit OK
  • For example, C:\Users\<username>\Documents\MWO Patch Cache
  • Click the blue Patch button
  • The launcher will now check the Patch Cache folder you defined. If it locates the required patch files, it will unpack and use those files to apply the patch
  • Once the patch is complete, launch the game

Not bad, but I have not heard any whispers about a new mech? Axman (even though it is a filthy freebirth Mech)?

Oh cool, Arctic Cheetahs can now bring worthwhile amount of damage if it bothers carrying LRMs.
What, no missile ammo quirk for Summoner-Prime So8 too while at it? That thing can barely carry more than 700 damage (spread damage at that if you count the missiles and use an LB) worth of ammo as it is already.
Oh well, at least it'll be able to shoot its C-ERPPC more with that +10% general cooldown quirk replacing the ballistic cooldown So8.
Stalker WU durability buff because uhh, why? It's already one of the best hitbox+weapon placement chassis in the game.
Urbie arms armor buffs, cool. Now can the Adder, Cougar, and Kit Fox get something similar?
Wolverine buffs and quirk consolidation, nothing really stood out in particular, maybe the 7D's +RAC RoF and the 6R's cooldown and laser duration buffs oh and the 7K's -15% CD I guess.
Also TB missile quirks on chassis that struggles with fitting that overweight thing, yay.

Oh also the Mad Dog now finally has something over Sun Spiders and Timber Wolf,a 2C-UAC20 loadout on a single (two if you count the Bandit) variant's So8, whoa. Sucks for the C to be pretty much just a worse Bandit with its worse weapon placement and no UAC quirks though.

At least it is a fine Crusader Clan Mech (from the second best Clan).

Whait a sec. Urbies get buffed? Why? They are in a very good spot already, why do they get addidional buffs?

If not the Fire Falcon, then the only fastboi left would be the Locust IIC. And it makes sense. One, the Locust is already I the game, and two, it helps recycle resources like the Thor II and Executioner-B did recently.

Most of the buffs outside the missile variant and the MASC variant is total whatever, you won't see people fitting their urbies with LB5/AC5s over UAC/RACs, or even bother squeezing in HPPC on the ECM-energy variant. There's the arms armor buff which is admitedly head scratching sure I guess. Oh there's also the R60's +MG range buff I guess but why are you playing an Urbie for MGs instead of a Locust?
The K9 and the R60L getting -100% jam and -40% RAC ramp down are nice sure, but they're not exactly direct firepower buffs either. Good luck getting that RAC5 to jam in the first place on the R60L by the way, the other team has to ignore you shooting at them for that long to get there. Oh and guess you can shoot an UAC5 all day long on the K9 too now which is already what you'd do on it even before anyway.

Does the Bandit need that much more of an ammo bonus than the -C? And yes, I know the current bonuses. Also should be a good change regardless.

Can we have a proper heroes sale already? And bolt-ons and colors? Having to wait and see if the quirk lottery will put a mech on science sale is awful. We haven't had an actual sale in ages, it's just a rehashed science sale month after month after month.

It's in the notes following the new map announcement for December. So stay tuned. I'm excited for this.
