I mean they somewhat used to, but you could say the same about MW5 Clans as well which outside of PGI's websites I didn't see really anything and I'm pretty sure one of the people let go was the head of their marketing. Marketing is money spent that only stems the bleeding because MWO has historically had several influxes of players its just never been able to keep them which speaks to larger issues.

I was willing to buy MechWarrior 5: Clans on Day 1. No discounts, just for the full price. No problem.

But whenever I asked in many official threads if PGI intends to publish MW5: Clans of GOG (a well-known game platform), the PGI's silence was the only answer.

Well, it seems to me that EG7 / PGI simply do not need my cash and the cash of many other gamers. As it is, I am less and less interested in that game. After all, what can we expect? One more expansion pack and finito?

You're missing out. It's a good solid game standing on its own. Would I like to see more post-game content? Absolutely, but it delivered a full single player Mechwarrior experience as promised. It's worth playing even if no more content is released.

I don't think this would've made a dent TBH, I'd hazard a guess that Steam still dominates market share of PC game distribution, but even then something else clearly went wrong given they also had a console version as well (not that I think it did that well on console).

And you see no issues here? A few guys play a mech for a coupe of days then a decision is made what to do with it. Its a closed biased group of players that do not represent the playerbase of MWO. No one cares about the one 10% LRM velocity nerf and that's the point, its a waste of time and resources on something insignificant that someone clearly had a problem with. This is the precise issue of the Cauldron and ironically you've laid it out perfectly yourself. You shape the game to your liking and try to justify and pretend that you don't.

Would you prefer it ******* dead?

Are all Stalkers getting actual functional missile doors, or just the clan version?

The 4 dragoon mechs are actually a booster pack! Which means that they will be coming out for MC/Cbills later this year, albeit without the cbill boost. You'll be able to have your Jaime Wolf Archer, just without the camo if you wait for a bit Posted Image

Will this be a bundle pack or will we be able to make single purchases? I only play lights so would love to purchase the new Flea, but if I have to buy 2 assaults and a heavy in order to get it, then I will just skip it and be sad panda until its released for MC Posted Image

MW5:Clans on GOG.com please!
Willing to pay full price for it on GOG.com !

~I suspect that MWO does not get much profit from Steam purchases (henceI try to buy direct from MWO website)
~XBox is Microsoft, and I recall from MWO/PGI developers that MechWarrior franchise got renewed a few years back to make MW5:Merc that Xbox was required as part of this deal. Presume ditto for MW5:Clans, and proposed MWO2.

Concerning just the next patch - is it a possibility to get drop sizes reduced back to 8v8?

Can't speak for other folks here, but when the search for the match lasts about half as long as the match I have much less interest in hitting launch on the next match.
The matches that I have dropped for this month have all come with 3-4 minute waits with medium mechs and one light - searching was around 30-40% of the non-mechlab time of log-in sessions. A couple were a little faster re-drops with the last set of players, otherwise the percentage was closer to 50% searching to match time.

To be fair, anyone who follows MWO with any regularity knows this statement is completely false. Let's be honest, at least ...

Yes, let's. Conspiracy theories about 'the devs hate/love [class/weapon/faction] so that's why this change happened' are a dime a dozen - and always fact-free claims with only bias confirmation to back them up. Shifting the focus of your conspiracy theories to the Cauldron instead doesn't make it different - and when someone who's privy to conversations within the Cauldron tells you that the overall group doesn't have a preference, you actually have to offer evidence, rather than accusations, if you want to demonstrate that he's lying. "Let's be honest" indeed!

As much as I enjoy the 8v8 dynamic a little more, that's very unlikely to happen, for several reasons:
  • All of the quirks and weapon balance is done for 12v12. Reducing the number of targets has a lot of knock-on effects.
  • People want to play with their friends, and that means groups. The smaller the overall team, the greater the effect a team can have, and reducing maximum premade sizes limits that ability, pushing away players who are used to dropping as a lance.
  • It's not a popular enough idea in the player base. We've had trial events, and a vote thread, but opinions were pretty split.
With all that, it's unfortunately almost certain that 8v8 isn't in the cards.

I still think the missile velocity quirk nerf is unwarranted as falling to an LRM DPS (which the TBT-7M falls into) builds requires a rather significant mistake on the target's part. Just run the SHC-H or VPR-D if you want to see how effective that sort of build is.
Really, it's a medium, the alpha isn't even that high assuming it can even get a lock-on (and keep it for more than 1 salvo) in the first place.
And like I said several pages ago, if the problem is that "with the armor buff it should lose firepower" then go for the cooldown quirk, velocity is only an enabler in allowing said weapon systems to hit and do (not even accurate due to LRM spread) damage.

That's too bad because the drop times are pretty horrible even compared to the last time I had a run at the game like a year or so ago. Maybe then they are just nearing the point it's time to open up T1-3 completely and make it quicker for 4-5 to open up to finish collecting drops.

I haven't been able to play recently, because I've been... out of the country. But there are times when the game slows down, and then speeds back up again. If you're having truly excessive wait times, try playing at a different time of day if possible - or simply check back in a week or two later. It shouldn't be onerous to wait for matches, and that wasn't my experience last time I played.

When it comes to armour protection, the TBT line is pretty weak due to the large torso hit boxes and an extra 15pts of armor on the -7M isn't going to help it much.

What's done is done and the TBT-7M will still be usable, but overall it will be weaker imo.

Good hunting,
