PPFLD is looking to be the overwhelming winner right now in the light game.
Raven 4Xs/ Firestarters/Urbies with Snubs and Magshots, Adders and Cheetahs with APG if you value mobility or raw firepower more.
Panthers can try deadsiding with an LFE to not instantly kick the bucket, but you'd have to do the math if you do more on paper with quirks, and then factor in how large of a hitbox you have.
Can't use lock ons, because people will dip back into cover after shooting you, invalidating your turn to shoot. Obviously no LRMs or ATMs here, unless you encounter that one in a million guy running a stock urbie who cannot contest your positioning.
Can't use burn time heavier weapons, because of the same. In the event you DO get em, you'll drag a laser across the body, while they put 20~ damage in a side torso.
Tried running a RL100 Firestarter. My aim's too shaky to actually land them on moving targets. Might work, but it also relies on your opponent being lobotomized and unable to find a non-ECM light, so not a great hand to bet on.
And because all fights happen in the 300m range, with mechs that all move at around the same speed and extra agility, you're not doing anything longer than that and walking away winning.
FS9-A with all SXPulse or SRM lights have yet to show up, funnily enough. Looks like everyone thought the same thing and went all in on APG/Magshot.
SRM Jenner IIC is a no go. Spread is
dogwater even with CSRM2s, and anything more exacerbates the issue beyond head on, point blank. Can't use this thing in dogfights with any real reliability. In theory you CAN slap someone with a full brace of 6x6, but by the time you do 2 of those you're overheating and need to have killed or crippled the enemy enough to get away. Really makes me wish for Thunderbolt SRMs or something.
