Good thing during the 8v8 QP is that I was hooked on MW5.

Okay here is my honest tough... 12vs12 is more forgiving for new builds in my opinion for any mistakes you make wont impact game too much.
On second tough if you are a light or maybe a medium you will have more trouble to do aggressive plays on 12vs12.
But if you go with your test bot you are trying to level up skills with with a bigger team For my case I found better success!

I absolutely loved the 8v8. Matches were quicker and i think more balanced. Even in the situation of previously stated example of 5 assaults vs a team with 2. Light and Medium mechs can solo an assault with a pilot with decent ability. Can't beat an assault 1-1? get better! 8v8 event que when the number of people online is lower would be amazing. 12v12 seems fine for about 1/3 of the day. The other 2/3's is long que times. The main thing I would love to see improved would being able to actually play a faction match with out waiting hours in que. Dual que mode would be nice, so you can do quick play while waiting for a Faction team or some way to improve people's interest in this mode.

FWIW, I like 8v8 as a solo q if there are no soups in the mix. I find that I can affect the outcome of the match (positively or negatively) much more than in 12 v 12.

but with teams, an even average set of players all coordinating brings way more pain than in 12 v 12, esp if they were a 4 man running vomit or other such builds suitable for 4s (IE now with the higher mins so not as much packs of MG / SPL dps boats), they can and will dominate the field that much easier.

if we do full on 8v8, there needs to be no soup queue, or at least a soloq option that lets you avoid the soup if you really wanted with far longer wait times.

I enjoyed 8v8 but I will agree, it is less forgiving. But having it from time to time isn't an issue in my book.
