But XL225 works too if you want more ammo. It can get hot though, that CD quirk keeps you firing...

The UAC10s look kind of dinky which is really funny but it's probably because it has to scale to the hardpoint or something? There are a bunch of mechs where an AC or PPC looks hilariously teeny on them

Between this and the Bane I'm gonna stop purchasing new chasis if this continues.

The SHD IIC is an absolutely fantastic medium. Dante alone is a dynamo, the only SHD IICs that really stick out as being questionable are the 5 with its mounts and the A and B having overlap but the B being arguably superior by dint of spread quirk and suffering less from a ST loss. The best thing I have found for the A is "B but faster", swap in a bigger engine and sub 4 SRM2s for the 3 SRM6s of the B and make it much more zoomy. Still tinkering and trying to find a more distinct niche for it, because the B feels better to me but maybe I have it mixed up. The A can basically run the same loadout as a miniature Orion IIC A brawler build but without the staying power, so there is that.
The Bane is an utter monster unless you try to facetank. I see tons of Banes. If I had to guess why there are fewer SHD IICs it's because y'all yank your cranks so hard to big fat bags of guns.
Edit: Okay the A hits stupid hard with LB20 and 4 SRM6 but it's slower and spicy so it's more of an ambusher?

By this logic the Bullshark legends are garbage because I rarely see them either. Anecdotal evidence isnt a good point for balancing. Executioners (non B-C) are extremely rare but one of the most used mech on high tier comp.
Bane, Firemoth and Shadowhawk IIC are all good. Just not brainless good. They require more thought to piloting because they can be fragile.

People (sometimes the same ones) like to use "popularity" as an excuse over and over. Nope.

More agility.
What, like how the slow lights like Cougar does when it's running the lore accurate™ pretend-heavy loadout? Didn't work out on those for sure, though mostly because weak weapon quirks for its lack of durability.
The Cauldron would probably just hurr-durr and give it durability buffs were they to pay attention to it; instead of weapon ones.
And pat themselves on the back for introducing another chassis for an already saturated role instead of making it a proper glass cannon just like they did with the FB armor Black Lanner buff.
Less tonnage for drop deck/group as you yourself stated isn't how the game is balanced around, granted usually said when it's about FP, and EQs certainly aren't balanced.
And even if it were, it would be terrible to have tonnage solely as the determining power level, which it still somewhat is due to game design failure/neglect.
And really? ACW-BK? The Trial Huntsman is right there and literally everyone has it.
And hey, it is a good point anyway.
It's 40t instead of this thing's 45t that lets it fit into more drop deck/group stacks if you want to argue for it.
And hey that's a point as to why the SHD-IIC as it is, is pretty undertuned which was my original point (to the point that its alternatives are more appealing) from seeing its quirks.
Also target priority is more of a player issue thing.
It's their own fault that they think "doing 60 damage for 10% of a target's total hitpoints (i.e shooting at an tanking assault/heavy)" is better than "doing 30 damage for 20% of a target's total hitpoint (shooting at a medium/light)" so hey, blame the reward system among other things too I guess.
All the variants feel really good if you got them. From the sounds of it, you didn't. Also, do you only complain..?

By this logic, we could say quite a lot of mechs are garbage. I've been seeing plenty shadowhawk IIC's.

After the event dropped they started showing up more.
Also the 5 is distinctly less pleasant and it is entirely because of the mounts. It isn't bad but it's annoying to not have those nice SHD shoulder mounts.
