Agree with you that it's pretty hard to win a match, have 3 kills and 8 assists, but still have your Red Down Arrow.
I suspect that your damage dealt was rather low. (i.e. you've finished off the kill, after your teammates have heavily damaged foe).

But without your 2x screenshots, it's very hard to ascertain.
~Did you incur significant team damage, or even team kill(!)?
~Was your damage dealt very low, especially as compared to your Teammates?

The problem with the current system is the biggest issue damage is valued way to highly ,but at the same time. I can't really think of a better system, people use to rise through the ranks by simply sitting back and eating missiles with AMS, i agree that you shouldn't be able to do that but I dissagree that you don't get match score at least a little for eating missiles.

As stated kinda before focusing on damage makes modes like Conquest and assault kinda worthless why do objectives when your just gonna get a down arrow?

OP "figured it out" and left the thread two weeks ago, so there's no real need to argue about this further IMO. The system isn't perfect and could theoretically be improved, but it's working as designed. Not any deeper than that.

I'm not worried about it, but I am assuming that it was a low score situation. I was playing a Crael with a srm6, hmg build.

What I am looking to do in the game is to find a group of players, clan, guild to join up with as solo gets a bit boring...lol

I think others have explained it already, but yeah, PSR is relative. You can do good or bad, but your gain or loss is a function of how you do relative to everyone else in the match. If your team had overperformers, you may not be on top. Thats just how it is.

Thing is, that could just mean you did a total of 11 pts of damage. In which case all you really did was kill steal from the people who actually did the work getting the kills. If you got a skill down on a win, means you were in the bottom 3 score-wise on your team.

End of the day, what really really helps you get + PSR in this game is helping your team win the match. If you can help your team to win, your PSR will go up in the long term even if there are individual matches where you get an erroneous skill down. Its a lot easier to get that PSR up when your team wins than when it loses. I've had multiple losses with 2+ kills and 600 damage where I've got a skill down. On the flip-side I've got PSR up on wins where I only did 200-300 damage and no kills because I turned their team around or got a bunch of their team to chase me into allies which basically won the game for my team. Its true I should of gotten a much better score for that tactical play, but at the end of the day, it averages out.

At the end of the day most of the bad stuff in the system only applies to a single game and it does average out over the course of many games.

PSR is a system to assist with in-game match making that for some reason is shared with the players.

Here is an idea, calculate but do not share the results of the calculation with players. Problem solved.

This is the correct answer. The reason this thread exists is because PSR is presented like a reward when it isn't. I (barely) remember when repair and rearm was still in the game. Money was always supposed to be the reward. Not up arrows.

Print Screen to capture both screens. We have had players Posted Image Posted Image after receiving a down arrow with a 347? MS. After he posted the screenshots, tossed everyone into the excel sheet, he went down 1 PSR point. If a few of his high scoring team mates (two had up arrows on a loss) hadnt put out their numbers, he would have received an equal sign. iirc, both sides had lopsided damage/scoring. Will look for that thread tomorrow.

But with this, it is an example where both times ended the game with the same match scores, but one side did win, either by kills or objectives. Hai, a spreadsheet out there that can be utilized too.. - https://mwomercs.com...ost__p__6519413

Anyhow, now I view the Tiers more in Battletechology terminology, Elite, Veteran, Regular, Militia and Green. And each tier or level is comprised of 1000 PSR pts for a total of 5000 pts.

It may be frustrating but without the win you are likely to get the down arrow unless you are one of the top three by score on the losing side.
