In MW4 Mercs I made a non-serious Annihilator variant loaded with various MGs, Small/Medium Pulses, Small X-Pulse, and the smaller LBX stuffed in all the weapon slots. Turns out it was more serious than I anticipated. The magic armor eraser was always a crowd favorite.

I didn't know such a thing existed! I will have to share this with Rob and look up it's details myself. We were using only tech available in 3049 so dunno if this was even available to him. Thanks!

Are you using Inner Sphere or Clan? Because the Pirahna is a Clan design.

Okay, I take it back.

Silliest design ever was UrbanMech with a Heavy Gauss Rifle. (I call him "R2-Destroyer")

The 2nd silliest design I ever made was a Kanazuchi battlearmor with 3 Assault Lasers. I've won plenty of Solaris battles with that bad boy.

The third silliest is the old quad Rotary-AC/20 Annihilator.

I ran a Cougar and loaded up every available slot with flame throwers. Didn't do a lot of damage, but it was good for causing other, larger mechs to shut down from overheating. Then my clan mates would take the enemy mechs out.

My favorite load-out is a Hauptman with 3 clan LBX20's, max armour and lots of speed! Total garrison mech but There is no better feeling in Mechwarrior than making an ATLAS fall over from your first salvo!!!

And also... a half dozen flamers or so are FUN when the enemy has a Novacat!!! LOVE watching them overheat themselves and then you just tip them over the edge and they explode ^_^

Its quite simple, really, or it can be stupidly complex and intricate. your choice. You can make one up or you can call back to one you did in previous mech installments.

For myself i once stripped a daishi of all its armor and what little speed it had to fit three longtoms on. Alternatively, i stripped MOST of its armor and slapped on as many Clan Machine Guns as I the omni and ballistic slots would dare hold.(Mechwarrior 4)

During a night match i took a cougar and fitted it with flares. Oh Christmas trees were everywhere.(Mechwarrior 4)

Nice. Back in the daze of Netmech, I had a Ranger ? not sure what the chassis was, but I outfitted it with about six or ten LRM20 racks...used it in the Canyon, if you could perch on the mesa, you could rain rain rain LRMs all day long....

I called it the Organ Grinder

It sang LRMs all over.

Good times.

I remember someone posted in a different thread about a mech he made using the TT rules.

Apparently this is legal, but I don't have the books so I'm just going on what he said (and my own foggy memory)

He had a 100 ton mech with a lift hook. The mech itself was not loaded with a large amount of weapons. It was heavily armored, and had a powerfull engine, but the main thing was the lift hook. Using this hook, he claimed he could pick up 50 tons worth of stuff on his mech. This was the important bit. Using the hook, he would pick up a custom made 50 ton module that contained the majority of the mechs firepower.

TL:DR The guy picks up a 50 ton "awesome gun" turning his 100t into a 150t.

Heres another one. Taking an Atlas, removing some engine power, and attaching lots of mechanical jumpers. AKA - the Pogo Stick

14 machine guns in MW3

I also did something like 18 SRM 2's in MW4. It hit so hard that it knocked over 90 ton mechs. Ammo explosions sucked though :/

OK that one is new to me.
I knew about the TSM 100t Mech capable of picking up 20t Mechs and hitting stuff with them . .

Ive done a Flamer mech on something in MW4 to see how much heat I could put on an enemy....didnt work quite as well as i had hoped...

I did 16 flamers on a Dashi in MW3 to see how much heat was created per group fire. In two shots, my mech self destructed.

That's impossible... only 14 weapons were allowed on a chassis, no matter how much space it had available. That's why I only put 14 MG on mine in MW3.

Then it was probably 14 then, I did it awhile back and I remember because I found it funny it self destructed myself due to a cause of createdvolcanic heat from flamers.

Mw3 ua I played and had 4 kills in a 4 on 4 match with an annihilator with 6 gauss'sLOL it was a flat large map. If they re spawned within 800meters I died. if you can't get six in, try harder! On MW2 playing lan with a buddy, we had daishi's i think? we each had a med laser 5 min kill? felt like an hour!!!

MW2 - Kit fox with gauss rifle
MW3 - Supernova with as many ER medium lasers as possible (I think if I fired all of them at once it was instant death)
MW4 - Puma with AC20 and medium laser

My favorite in MW4 was the Kamikaze Raven... Strip off ALL of the armor and boost the engine slap in a Self Destruct module and maybe equip a small laser to whittle away at an enemy first. And then basically RUN LIKE HELL AT THE BIGGEST BADDEST MECH I COULD FIND. Usually would shock Atlas pilots to be dropped by an itty bitty little raven that came out of nowhere and just went kablooey in their face.

LRM / Flamer boat in MW3. I think 7 LRM10s and 9 flamers or something like that on a Sunder.
In a slew of LRM, AC and laser boats why not dual-wield in way?

The LRM10 although did fair amount of damage never was really able to overwhelm any mech. Kills were mostly assist kills.
And due to the quick closing speed of MW3 (damn you MASC), there was very little oppurtunity to fire LRM before coming into close range.

The flamers did good damage but due to having a larger slower turning mech I could never compete truly with the faster flamer Scat boats at close range.

One of the silliest I've heard of was in MW4 Mercs my friend taking a Behemoth ripping everything out. Guns, armor, heatsinks. Then he downsized the engine as much as he could to make room. Then he loaded the head gun slot with as many mini gauss as possible. I think he managed to cram 8 or 9 in there. What resulted was a literal glass cannon. Slow as hell, no armor, but whatever he hit with it was coming off. It also worked with the Marauder 2. As for myself I tend to keep things balanced. The goofiest so far was an experiment that worked pretty nicely if it was a no heat game. What was it? A fully armed and armored Awesome capable of running at 90kph. It was fun running down the slower mediums and lights in that thing.

I created a Daishi that had 7 Bombast lasers on it. I called it "Mr. Bombastic" and it wasn't that great, but made me laugh when someone got slagged by it.
