also i don't think you would go the whole permanent vacation thing. since you said yourself your character is aggressive. she would have a hard time settling down on a beach somewhere for more than a month or 2. it would be like putting dirk on a deserted island. he would go nuts from boredom.

Dai10, I feel your pain - I had a lot of trouble at one point being the OTT guy. To fix it, I ditched my main character for about a month, and RPed a random Joe Bloggs with absolutely nothing going for him. Literally. He was just a civilian that got caught in a running gunfight, and ended up being dragged along with the group. By the end of the month, I didn't go OTT with my characters - too much any way
Now I'm not saying ditch Dai10, but try completely ignoring your background. According to you he can't remember it anyway, so have him wandering around thinking he's some halftrained merc with amnesia. Knowing he has amnesia, he could be a bit shy as a result, hence the staying out of the group, but the most important part of this is every time you write a post, reread it and think 'Could anyone do this, or would they need to be a hero or elite, or something other than normal?' If anyone couldn't do it, discard it and write something else. It'll be a challenge, and probably frustrating, but once you're used to it it gets a lot easier to avoid OTT characters.

EDIT: Also, what's with the spiders and handing them off to Kazzen? You've gone back in time, left the first bar, gone to a location where he's already said he's left in a 'masterful escape' and then handed a bunch of macguffins to him. You gotta pay attention to other's posts and check what's going on before you post. Also, why would you give him a bunch of rare toys? Why do you have the rare toys? What are the rare toys? Why do you need to have a small armoury with you at all times? Dirk's a mad scientist, but even he leaves his toys at home.
Also, can you work on your grammar? Use capitals, break up walls of text into paragraphs, all that kind of stuff. I'm a bit of a grammar nazi and that stuff causes me pain. So when I saw your edited down WoT was still a godmode fight, I pretty much ignored that entire post because it was hard to read and I already knew the outcome.
