How about we leave it until the Playstation 4 comes out?

Then they can look at it (at least we know they have xp porting games over to consoles).

They can't as long as Micros*** says a big fat "no" to that as the rights holder. And they (MS) did make it clear that the rights for any console release remain with them for the time being. As far as we know and got told. Of course, if you feel like it, you could ponder a lawsuit against Micros*** to get that changed... have fun with that one...

I'm not against this at all.

However, based on the experience of Uber Entertainment with Xbox quality control, I doubt they would make the game for Xbox. Especially since MWO wants to have continual content releases, it just wouldn't mesh with how long Live requires to process new DLC.

You can avoid having to go through the MS quality control stuff and certification every week by delaying the xbox game.....

Example :

Once the PC version has been out for say a year and a bit of content added you release /start working on the first version of the xbox MW:O complete with the full years worth of additions to the game (mechs etc etc) so its not just a tiny game.

It would be normal retail price for an xbox game at this point.

After releasing this version, you don't update it every week to keep up with the PC, you wait as the first version contains a lot of stuff already and could probably stand on its own without further updates.

Like in the old days with "Expansions" on PC, the xbox version would get a release every say 6 months (or a year even) for say 30 - 50 bucks or something and would contain all the new updates/content from PC. (DLC or boxed even)

I agree, the Xbox system would be a perfectly viable option for the game's release. Xbox Live can already support MMO-type gameplay with online matchmaking and customization options like what have been described so far for MW:Online. While the system may be nearing the end of its lifespan, the next iteration of the Xbox will surely be backwards-compatible with 360 games, meaning that it won't jeopardize this game's longevity. I too agree that not all of us can afford a decent gaming computer, I myself own a terrible, crappy Mac laptop that cannot even handle playing WoW on the lowest settings, let alone more advanced-graphics games. I DO, however, like many people, own an Xbox 360. I in no way suggest that gaming in MW: Online should be cross-platform- PC players will always have the advantage in that theater. Console gaming is a major gaming market right now, if MW:Online were to be released on both PC and console systems, it would easily double the game's potential profitability (the game is free-to-play yeah, but people would definitely pay for it on console, and would be tempted to purchasing DLC-type stuff and whatever "perks" or pay-exclusive content will be in the game).

Can I ask one thing? Why on Earth do people buy MAC?! It's A LOT more expensive, its hardware is crappy and you have really bad compatibility. :P

MWO will not be available for Xbox 360, there is some confusion out there since our announcement in 2009 was to be a console product. This one will be completely focused on the PC in every way possible. I know everyone wants in game content, think GDC onward for the real PR push. But the game is going to be very prominant in the news and with our high profile hardware partners. Hang in there guys were working extremely hard to bring you guys the very best MechWarrior title possible.

This.

Hmm, some very convincing arguments, and I appologise about the MW3 vs MW2 mixup, though I could have sworn i saw MW3 on playstation.. the look of MW3 ins unmistakable.. :\ then again I was like 14

Any who, At the time it is completely PC Focused but thing change, I would like to think if they made it for PC first, and we got all the bells and whistles as PC is due, and a latter 'nerfed' product is allowed for xbox, how in any way does that bother the PC comunity?

And finaly, a *JOYSTICK* for the xbox, is just as viable as a *JOYSTICK* for the pc. Also, the 'leading' for the standard controllers, is because the thumbsticks cant compete with a mouse. Not becuase a thumbstick controller cant compete with a joustick. I am going to flat out say it, Joysticks cannot compete with mouse and kyeboard the same way that a standard xbox controller cant. Further more, xbox does sell a keyboard and mouse for the xbox.

and really, Mech Assault was a ****** game. pretty, easy to play, but it was just another way for microsoft to **** on the mechwarrior/battletech comunity and laugh at us becuase they had the tittle to mechwarrior and they were out right abusing it.

In mech games, this does not hold true. Look at MW4. People with joysticks had an advantage, but then again, we had to aim just with the keyboard.

Honestly? It was my high school graduation present back in 2007, when those "Hi, I'm Mac....and I'm a PC" commercials where at their peak. My whole family uses Macs, and I was too young to know better. That was right at the time when Microsoft Vista was huge and hugely criticized as well. Don't blame me, blame the media

Played with mouse and keyboard, I was not super pro, but I did very well. I have never been super pro so I can asume my success was not meaningless.

I would be mad if MechWarrior Online went to any other system OTHER than the PC. Doing something like that makes less people play the game on the PC. To be honest, consoles suck, and people on the Xbox are trollers that will ruin the game REAL quick.

I'm a PC gamer through and through, but I hold no delusions about Trolls. Wherever there is gaming, there are immature and unsportsmanlike players afoot.

PC gamers have just as many losers as Consoles do. The only solace I've had in my experience is that Mechwarrior gamers seem to have been a lot more mature and respectful than your average gamer (though I'm sure some will definitely break this mold)

Yeah, but the thing is man, is that consoles have trollers to the exponent nine, and letting more in is just going to kill this franchise. It should be agreed on that this series needs young blood, but there need to be some cool gamers in here. I play on Steam a lot, and I regret it 2 days out of the week, every week, solely because of the trolling A-holes. So I hope you get my point.

Are you serious:? Xbox has a trolling comunity, and tahts why you dont want to see it on xbox, but steam, a PC comunity, also has trollers?

Sorry man, but Aegis is absolutly right. You are going to have trolls no matter where you go. And what your saying about xbox comunity is almost a troll in itself. I play xbox just as much as I do PC, which is allot. And I so no difrence between the two. I come across just as many trollers on Xbox as I do on the PC.

The big thing that makes the mechwarrior comunity so mature, is the abondance of older players and not young adults/kids.. and the young adults and kids who are attracted to the series tend to be a very smart group and thus far more level headed indaviduals.

So really, in recap: Trolls and A**holes are everywhere on the internet. Xbox has just as many as PC if not a 'smaller' enviorment so you come across them more frequently, and finaly, Mechwarrior tends to attract a more mature audiance, as most sims do so hopfully being a sim most 'trolls' and players such as that will avoid mechwarrior as it does not suite thier game taists.

@Omigir, I said what I said about Xbox because every single time that I played it, there were trollers to insane ammounts. I did not see a single player that acted over the age of 14. I went to 4 different servers, playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 a few days after it came out originally(it's been that long). It felt good to sell all of my Xbox related stuff to my friend.

My question is, what other games did you play on xbox? Did you find simular experince?

Could it be the CoD comunity vice the xbox comunity? Just like Steam comunity vice PC comunity?

COD was enough, but I also played Dead Space 2, still didn't like the people. In Steam, I'm not bragging, at least I can whip whoever I play against that trolls me. By the way, I think you aren't getting the point...

Yeah, I am saying that, because it still brings me back to the fact that the Xbox really sucks. Do you have a problem with that? If you do, you should have checked your feelings at the door.
