Octopus => Octopi
Cactus => Cacti
Radius => Radii
Hippopotamus => Hippopotami

How about anu$? It's a latin word right? If you saw more than one, would they be anii?

I can't believe I'm saying this, but plural of octopus is not really octopi.

Actually the proper plural for an octopus is octopuses. Octopi is an acceptable alternate, but not the traditional plural form.

Cutlas is from the latin word cultellus and its plural ending is still -es.

This is true, but when you examine the epidemiology of the precognizant of atlai, you see a disparagement between the "a" and "t", implying a strong affinity for batholytic evolution, which clearly leads us to conclude that "atlases" is indeed the way to go.

i always treated mech names as adjectives and resurted to using a number followed by the name instead of i.e. three atlas instead of three atlases

however with that said, there are some instances where the "S" plural makes more sense, but I'm not about to correct people in the middle of a battle as it's highly distracting.
