I guess I'm just partial to the 2D art. Were I to do a 3D representation I'd rather see actual real life models painted ;)

Not me, I like to see those sexy pieces of art paint rather than the poo-poo job the modelers did.

Thanks all!

Haha, thanks but let us not be too hasty. While the notion of making money off this is not without its appeal, I'm really doing this for the love of BT/MW. As I see it, the texture work is a good way to generate interest in the game (which I want to encourage) while bringing to light the wonderful imagery of the BT universe which has been literally decades in the making. It's a good way to get folks excited

You know, I'm very willing to engage in this kind of activity. ;)

The most passionate lot! :D

Someone liked my post on this thread, page 7. I ended up reading a few posts, found this one. Haha. Hayden, good on you brother.

No offense to the main man Alex, but IMO, the Modelers saved several designs. The arms on the Jagermech were excretable. IMO the Orion looked blobby. Could list a few more. Not hating on Alex, but dislike seeing the Modelers getting hated on when they generally do a good job....with everything but scale!

I would not say I'm hating on the modelers, but maybe that I'm most comfortable with the concept art and enjoy that over painting on the actual in game models at this point.

well, I was actually referring to Nautilus calling them poo poo, actually. I can't argue too much with someone else who takes his inspiration from the Jolly Rogers! Been using that as my scheme since CB brother, with some occasional Steiner stuff mixed in.

Stormcrow, Puma, Nova and Kit Fox turned out terrific, but the Dire Wolf and the Timber Wolf are deformed versions of the concept art.

The Timber Wolf model is specially bad because it lost all the elegance and the round angles, being the less "Clannish" of the pack.

PS: I din't like the Summoner's cockpit either.

Reworked basic green Atlas (use it if you want). Right torso totally reworked. Left torso upper missile tubes and cockpit glass was reworked too.

OK I finally got my MWO Atlas modified to be as close as I can make it to the classic 3025 original.
Here they are side by side. Let me know what you think.
BTW, originally the SRM6 was in the upper chest and the LRM 20 was a 5 tube rapid fire module on the left hip. The tube under the left arm was a coolant hookup.

I split the difference, and added the main 3025 components and kept some of the MWO placement of the head.
