The arms are stubby because it's a redesign :) . I guess I'll have to try it again some time and make the arms go down by the hip.

I only hope that the Clan Mechs are just like they were in the invasion.

Yep, I've owned every MechWarrior computer game since MechWarrior 2 (had a 233Mhz Pentium II computer with a 2-D Nvidia card, and a separate card-- a 3dfx VooDoo-- for the 3-D graphics). Some of my favorites in that game were the Warhawk (Assault Mech), Mad Dog (Heavy Mech), Storm Crow (Medium Mech), Marauder (Heavy Mech), and Jenner IIC (Light Mech). But, yeah, any mission that didn't require a light mech or assault mech, I tended to gravitate toward the Timberwolf-- it had the speed of a medium mech, but the armor and firepower of a heavy mech-- doesn't get much more versatile than that!

MechWarrior 3, I gravitated toward the Owens (light mech-- pretty sure it was a re-badged Jenner), the Shadowcat (Medium Mech), Vulture (Heavy Mech), Cauldron Born (Heavy Mech), and Supernova (Assault Mech-- I named mine "Champagne"). But, yet again, I found myself picking the Timberwolf (re-named "Mad Cat" in MW3) more often than not!

In MechWarrior 4, I got completely infatuated with the Mad Cat Mk II, and picked it every single chance I got!

Anyway, I'm anxiously looking forward to the (anticipated) rollout of Clan technology when the clan invasions begin. Maybe the developers can pick 6 Clans, for a 1:1 with the Inner Sphere Houses. Maybe 3 Crusader clans and 3 Warden clans?

I do hope they make a few changes to one mech, though, assuming they roll it out-- is there any chance of straightening-up the Marauder so that it looks a little less "hunched over"? It was a solid heavy mech (assuming you didn't need missiles), but it's appearance always bothered me...

The Owens is a omnitech version of the Jenner.

No, let it go, I like it as-is-- I'm not a fan of having it disproportionately-easy to shoot off my Mech's arms! Especially if I have my ER-PPC's mounted on them!

I read that we are about 5 to 10 years away from the clan invasions, even though they have already began on the outter worlds. But wasnt there some significant event launched in september of 2049?

Nothing is more powerful than the wish of a young boy. Except a Madcat, It has Lasers, Machine guns, and Missiles. A truly impressive compliment of weaponry. It's an absolute Death Machine.

Sorry, Coffi, but Freespace 2 is right up there with MechWarrior in my heart. The Shivan cruiser will always own the name Rakshasa to me. :P

The Timber Wolf is very impressive. So is the Summoner. What more could a gal want out of her mechs?
