I am a brilliant leader, how dare you question your Celestial Wisdom. I will unite All Under Heaven under my rule and guide the Capellan people into greater heights of prosperity. The reign of terror of my mother and grandfather are long past, it is time for a xin sheng of this great nation. My fellow Capellans, my children, I vow to you, every world that was lost to us to the Davions, and to the Mariks, will be ours once again!

Settle down, son. You already run the house, no need to win it again.

I voted that I love Sun Tzu, but I guess every father loves his son, right? I'm so proud of the man you've become!

XIN SHENG!

No offense to the civilians of the Capellan Confederation, but I'd rather have an off kilter tyrannical despot then a calculating monster like Sun-Tzu at the helm.

Needs more Candace Liao!

Yeah Candace Liao. Miss the days when an entire former Capellan Commonality did what you told them?

Sun-Zu gets mad props for bringing his State from the brink of collapsed caused by Romano's paranoia. He improved his state and had the audacity to tell Devlin Stone-d to take a hike when Liao to surrender their territory to Stone's "Republic". He was not willing to waste the troops of his state to fight the clanners(who had not threatened his territory).

Definitely lived up to his namesake.

He always acted in the best interests of the Confederation, even when those interests went against the popular mood(Victor:"Hey guys let's go attack the clanners?" Sun Zu:"Why? Which of my worlds have they attacked or threatened?").

He belongs to the top tier of IS leaders with Takashi, Hanse, and (as much as it pains me) the ORIGINAL Katrina Steiner.

Hey, remember that time when he requisitioned Star League troops to fight his own war, effectively making other houses die for his desire to take over Candace's realm in a bid for power, and pretty much lied about it? He's not willing to send troops to save the Inner Sphere from being taken over, but he's surely ready to use those same troops that stopped his realm from being Clan fodder to die for his own delusions.

Yea...we need more people like him. For sure.

The only problem with her going back to Sian in the novels, is that she did the right thing...which Sun-Tzu isn't quite capable of doing. Killing him wouldn't have solved anything, it would have eroded Candace's right to the Celestial Throne.

If the Capellans want to stay under a murderous and corrupt leader, then they choose to be there. Those brave enough to know what's really good for them live in St. Ives, and know which true Liao would bring prosperity to their realm, Candace.

Currently in 3049 Romano Laio is the current Chancellor, and she is insane much like her father, and we are stating to see the same signs of insanity in her son Sun-Tzu, in the Capellan Solution books by Loren Coleman, seeing ghosts of his mother and letting, the advice of the ghosts that haunt him dictate actions and policy. Plain and simple as brillant as Sun-Tzu is, he is just as nuts as the rest of the royal Laio bloodline, and Yes I will inculde Candace in the insanity as well.

Was he a brillant tactican and political schemer, yes. As a member and supporter of St. Ives, do I hate him yes, he used his military forces and his powers as First Lord to his advantage in a brilliant plan, that no one could really oppose until it was too late, The Kell hounds were on the northern front, Kali and her troops were beaten down, Kai had just reurned from clan space., Candace was weak, and Victor could no longer support St. Ives, with the FedCom Cival war he was dealing with.

For Sun-Tzu it was a perfect political move, and no one could really do a thing to stop it. How it was done however was weak, low and cowardly.I respect Sun-Tzu as a tactician, but I bleed for St. Ives, not the Capellen Confederation, or the Federated Commonwelth. Good thing it is only 3049 and Sun-Tzu will need another eight years or so before the new First Lord.

Sun-Tzu is one of the greatest leaders the IS has ever seen....not many could have turned the CapCon round the way he did, to say the least.

He's not NICE, but strong leaders rarely are.
