Dude, there is only ONE way to go if you want knock down power to the exponent 9, awesome survival capabilities/armor, and efficiency. It's called the DAISHI, and it's one bad*** ****. I would trust a lance of Daishi's before a company of Atlas's. But that's just me.

Atlas when on parade duty because it looks "better" imo.

Dire Wolf (Daishi) in a fight because it IS better.

On the tabletop? The Daishi is the more dangerous of the two, as its maneuverability and weapons fit-out mean it is more useful tactically and more dangerous to the enemy.

In a MechWarrior game? The Atlas, because the Daishi's centre torso slot is freaking enormous and visible from the side, which means a good warrior will have a much easier time taking advantage of its weaker armour than is possible on the tabletop: With the Atlas, turning the 'mech's torso when you're not shooting virtually guarantees that your opponent will strike an arm or a side, meaning you can spread damage a lot more effectively across the 'mech. In the Daishi, your centre torso is still clearly visible, meaning you're gonna get slotted.

It´s hard to compare a Clan vs. an IS Mech but i would go for "the geat Death" all the way!
Atlas is so overrated, not nearly as fearsome as the Daishi and not halfway as iconic as the Daishi.

Comparison between Atlas and Daishi...great. I go with the Atlas because a real clan warrior would bid away half of its weapons when facing a Atlas - and he will do this till i'm in distance to punch and kick it to dead,

By the way.. this question in a Davion Sub Forum - why not ask for a Victor vs Daishi?

I would have to say the Atlas. Clan mechs are over rated. Since my favorite mech is the Devastator an Atlas can be kitted out almost the same, eventually.

Devastor is a walking coffin with its low speed and XL-Fusion it becomes prey for most clan units.

That beginning part intrigues me. Good luck aiming for that PERFECT spot while you're getting knocked around my enemy fire, watching your radar, trying to not take friendly fire, watching enemies right in your face, I could go on but what's the point?

If you find it that hard then I'm probably not as rubbish at MechWarrior as I thought: I rejoice when my nearest opponent is in a Daishi in MW4 and its expansions, especially in Solaris matches- because a lot of the time I can take it out in just 2 or 3 big hits.

Seriously, that centre torso hitbox is HUGE, not that hard to hit from the side and hard to miss from the front.

An Atlas is a lot more of a pain to kill because turning to the side is actually an effective strategy to stop people from hitting its CT.

Although the bulbous head can prove to be an issue when taking damage from guided missile weapons: If your opponent aims high after getting a lock, a lot of them will strike it, regardless of aspect. However, that's only really a problem when getting hit by guided missile boats from relatively close range or high elevations. The new (and pretty freakin' badass) Atlas design for MW:O seems to have fixed the issue to a certain extent, though.

Well, the daishi (like most clan tech... :/ ) is an altogether superior machine.

But I still favor the atlas, the style, the symbol, its a classic to me. Besides its no fun having the advantage all the time lol.

Atlas all the way! not many mechs has the same reputation ...Sure the Dire Wolf has of course a big advantage beeing a full blown Omni mech but we wont see those for hmm minimum 2 years(appeared in 3050 ,correct me if i am wrong).

Doesnt the Atles have ECM and other stealth systems? Thats a HUGE advantage. Its like your just walking along in your shadow cat, everything is all fine and dandy and then you find your self in the ejection seat going, "what the **** just happened?"
