What are your opinions on which Clan 'Mech commands the most firepower ton for ton? Personally I believe the Dire Wolf, with 55 tons of pod space out of its 100 ton weight, would be an excellent choice.

I'd have to go with the Hellstar.
4 ERPPCs in a 95T 'mech that runs cool after alpha striking? Hell yes!
It may not be the most overwhelmingly ARMED 'mech out there, but it's fast and capable. The Dire wolf is a very potent chassis, yes, but most of its variants overheat really easily.

I'd have to say the Timber Wolf prime, while it isn't as flashy and new as some of the newer designs, it has stayed able on even the most modern battlefields in the setting. a good mix of speed, armor and weapons that reach to all ranges give the mech a very well rounded front. its also one tough nut to crack, with Clan CASE more so,the only draw back I see to it is the XL engine. other than that it is a very well balanced frontline Omni that I have seen on the TT weather a blistering barrage of incoming fire, only to keep movingand return fire.

Hahaha it still only uses tech available to the immediate invasion forces.
Endo Steel, XL Engine, Double Heatsinks.
That's it.

Adder - in light class (18 ton for weapon)
Novacat in heavy class - 36 or 37 ton for weapon
Dire wolf in assault - 50+ ton for weapon

PS Thx to BMD and HM Pro :)

Ton for Ton I'd go with the Stromcrow.

Well in terms of cost vs fire power I'm going with the Blood kite.

85 tonnes of optimised firepower and survivability without a vulnerable XL engine to take you out of the fight quicker.

In terms of tonne for tonne nastiness I'm going Stormcrow/Ryoken fast well armoured and decent fire power.

Hellstar is sexy, but it's 3079 introduction puts it way out there. Dire Wolf certainly is a monster.

I am surprised no one has mentioned the Warhawk C yet.... 2x ERPPC 2x LPL and a targeting computer. You don't want to go toe to toe with that bad boy, or you're gonna have a bad day. Only 85 tons too, so pound for pound I think its tough to beat.

And as a Falcon at heart I love the Turkina but I think the space wasted on its JJ's at 95 tons would ultimately remove it from a pound for pound contest

Lights: Adder (P)
Mediums: Stormcrow [B]
Heavies: Summoner (P)
Assaults: Warhawk (P)

Course I would never drive an assault, but if I did it would be in the Jaguar standby mech of choice....the Warhawk.

Although it would be 5 tons heavier, I wonder if it will be possible to fit 4 ER PPCs on a Dire Wolf, with 30 double heat sinks, emulating the Hellstar. It would use 54 of the available 55 tons, and have that extra ton to dedicate to armor or a support module. Although a little slow, would be a devastating long-range design.

Kit Fox and the Cougar, both mechs are fully capable of going and standing toe to toe with mechs three times their size.

Kit fox can mount a LBX AC 20 pluss supporting lasers and still run fast enough to make it hard to hit.

Cougar can do the same with an LBX AC 20 and take hits and keep on going.

Both are little hellians that pilots need to notice as soon as they are on the battle feild or they risk over looking a threat that will take advantage of this right away.. I know this becuase I pilot a cougar and when I get ignored.. I make the enemy regret it.

Ton for ton, there are not many mechs that can say that they stand toe to toe with other mechs twice their size. And a dire wolf it is never possible for a Dire wolf to ever fight a mech twice its size.. let alone half its size bigger then itself. <__< damn you math!

Support module or something. You can't change the armour level of an Omnimech.
And the Daishi'd be slower.
It's scary with it armament though, 4 PPC? Pfft. Get rid of its UAC5s and you'll be swimming in heat sink tonnage. Then deal more damage than 4 measly CERPPCs

But I like the cut of your jib!
