I think I'll wait to see what Mechs are available before I choose a starting role. Over time I will develop all 4 roles to fill in on missions as needed, but will likely focus on Assault and Scout as roles initially.

I can't see a Griffin fan trading down to a weaker, smaller, slower mech. :D

That's cool.

The Griffin, however, is not. Compared to the VND-1R, the GRF-1N is under-sinked.

While it may run hot, it's faster and looks cooler than a Vindicator. At least the unseen Griffin did, and i have a bunch of mini's for it.

ok, I'll just need a Crusader. Heavy Gauss, 2x LRM 10's 2x Med Las. Put me in that thing and let me get in close.

Its one hell of a brawler. I much prefer getting close to the target.

Gah, overheating, cumbersome, fragile, useless for anything 'cept taking out light-medium lances. If you want an assault mech, go for a Diashi ;)

Scouting should be fun. Not in an Atlas though. After all, we're from FWL here! That's why I'll be scouting in Awesome :P

Well, it highly depends on what mechs will be avaible at the begining, but I think I will go with Assault. BTW, you guys should be ashamed of yourselfs! Clan technology? What happened to your patriotic feelings?!

Fire support, through and through, so long as I have eyes on target, making sure my rounds land where they need to. Though with the available terrain able to block LoS, supposedly, I might be able to pull off a hit/hide brawler/harasser. We'll have to see when the game goes live. =3

I'd probably enjoy a Fire support role. Or maybe even front lines. Scouting is just kind of boring in my opinion.

I'll be scouting in a Cicada: fast as all get-out and an AC/5 for plinking.

I will feed you targets and kill the opposing scout :)

I'd be in a medium, or heavy. Light is too fast for me, Assault is too slow  I like balanced mechs.

Scouting and defense roles using light and heavy mechs, respectively, with a main focus on fire support. I will ensure battlefield awareness and keep my lance mates' backs covered.

I was hoping to suit up in a Medium mech, preferably a Wolverine,. and going with an attacker/scout style setup... however, with no word on the unseens, I may have to switch this up some.

I would like to be able to fill different roles dependent on the gameplay mode and the maps. Urban maps might be more fun for brawling. Where say a jungle map might be better for scouting. Maps with serious changes in elevation (like in the sample game play) would give a better vantage point to be a commander type. Also the size of maps would come into play as well, larger more complex maps may have both urban and changes in elevation and mean you need a balance of say commander and a brawler.

As for gameplay modes, using command type features to soften up enemy defenses in capture the objective games may be more interesting than commdaning in team deathmatch style, where I might want to be in on the shootin'. Although if I had to be pinned down for the start, brawling in a Hunchback pursuant to my chain of command's orders.
