Mechs and survivability

Could someone please answer or redirect me to the resourses:
1. The founder mechs are they "always there" or could they be wrecked permanently?
2. Repairs and economics between the battles how does that affect the C-bills?
3. Any other maintainance costs to keep a garage of mechs up and running or are you gaining money and gear with the XP?
4. Any good FAQ about game dynamics without the fluff?

I'll reformulate:
Will you have to pay through your nose if your having some horrible battles in a row?
I see that you pay for upgrades. But is the basic skeleton with your purchases there or not if it is totalled?

1. Yes you basically have to pay through your nose if you have horrible battles in a row. When that happens the best solution to do is start selling mechs so you can fix mechs that you think are more valuable.
2.Again based on other experiences with mechwarrior games, when your mech is totalled the skin/ paintjob. remains the same but of course damaged unless you pay to have a fresh coat of pain on it

It is potentially risky depending on your expectations.
- At this point mechs are implemented with hard point restrictions, meaning I can't put any weapon anywhere I want if slots are available. What that means today, is I can't strip a frame down and put the equipment I want on it, only certain weapon classes can go on a particular part of a mech. I might have to buy several Atlas mechs to be able to field all the variants I want.
- Mechs work pretty well but there are still balance issues in the mind of the devs. Not sure what that means yet.
- You are going to want to play with a regular group. Right now playing in a PUG is like playing with a team of "Leroy Jenkins". I don't believe that will change in the future.
- Mech repair and reload has yet to be implemented.
- It is still in closed beta, the final gameplay may be different.

You (Im guessing) questioned this prior to becoming a Founder. More than likely you will find the answers to most of this in the Beta Forums now that you are a Founder. That and I suspect some / part / all of those things are still under development and subject to change throughout the course of Beta (possibly are release as well).
Good luck and enjoy the game

How about a (very) slow auto-repair rate for each Mech, say 10% repair rate per day, without the need of any C-Bills...
(ie: fully auto-repaired in 10 days time, or 10% x 10days).
So if your Mech was complete wiped out (0% Structural Integrity left), it would take you 10 days to fully repair your Mech, without the use of any C-Bills. This would help out casual F2P players, while hard core MWO Veterans would consider this repair insignificant (and use their C-Bills to repair their mech quickly for more PvP play).
