Hi guys.... Im new to this game, well not MW but the online thing, if I buy MC would I be able to DL the game and start patching or would I still wait for them to accept me? Because Its been nearly 2 weeks for me to be accepted to this game...

Open Beta scheduled to be start on monday (see link)

If you status its "pending" you can't launch the game. Once its active, you will find a download button on this website.
Download the file and run it. This will normally take you through a long initial game patch sequence after which you can launch the game and login to the game server

Feel free to haze this new recruit. I started with MW2 on my Mac years ago. I would like to resume my play and will build a PC specifically for use with MWO. Couple of questions. I have seen the system requirement info, but is this going to change when the new version of MW is released? Is there a level for new recruits.

Does one have to be invited to join a faction? Is it possible to play as an independent?

Seems that there is a lot I need to learn besides combat skills and protocol.

Pardon my ignorance, but I have never played any other computer games besides MW2.

Welcome! Played MW3 and MW4 myself, loved both. MWO is more true to the tabletop rules, so might take some adjusting.

To answer your questions:

Not sure what you mean by "level for new recruits" but the PC specs will be the same as they currently are. The minimum settings may go up as the game evolves over time but for now the game looks fantastic so I don't expect that to happen soon.

Currently not a lot of info on factions is available, look for that when we head to full release at the end of the year.

There's a rather steep learning curve, so don't get discouraged! Learning how to best group weapons, manage heat, and build an effective battlemech is not something that comes naturally to most. Give the trial mechs a few whirls and see what role you prefer. The trial mechs don't have the best builds but none of them are particularly bad, good for learning the weapons and roles.

Nice to see a Mw game ATLAST.
But I just registered, and wanted to play the beta. I went via the play open beta, but when I press the button, it just went to the register page, even though Im, already logged in?

What OS are you running?,i don't know if MWO is supported by Mac and Linux yet.

Hi everyone!
i'm downloading the game right now.
later i'd like to install the game on a second pc, but i don't want to download all the files again.
Is it ok if i stop the patcher on the second pc, then copy-paste all the files and the restart the patcher?
