I dislike any mech with protruding features --- they are more easily targeted and hit.

The Ryoken has gimp arms, but that's an advantage. Now a Daishi, huge, protruding cockpit makes it vulnerable, especially since it's slow.

I've never been a big fan of the Hollander. I understand it's role as a speedy sniper but to me relying on a single weapon system is silly, especially an ammo-based system. A Hollander on the battlefield would require at least one other 'Mech to protect it from anything that gets close so now you've got about 65 tons of equipment tied up to put one weapon into action. Might as well slap that Gauss Rifle onto a 65 ton chassis with a few backup weapons.

Plus also that thing is clearly a big phallus and some designer was obviously overcompensating.

Don't forget the whale tails and tramps stamps. Your house or unit affiliation would be on the lower back of your mech right above the waistline! Every mech would get a bluetooth adapter upside its head, and the reactors would all be XLG (Green).

Most disliked styles; Anything as ugly as (or worse than) the Spider. What is up with those feet?! If it's supposed to be fast why do I imagine it walking like it's wearing giant swim fins? All these ugly styles desperately need a redesign so that they look like a military machine and not some over sized man-in-a-suit. (note; Not talking about the Spider's weapons as they are adequate for it's speed/size.)

Load-outs; Dislike the abundance of flamers and MG's in the smaller 'Mechs due to no support units in game (yet?). These will need to be redone if those 'Mechs are to make an appearance. Snipers may be at a disadvantage on certain maps but excel at others so could turn into a love/hate design. Same with any 'Mech designed for a specific role that finds itself in a map it is poorly designed to fight in. Can see a lot of whining due to "my 'Mech can't fight on 'X' map! It's not fair!"

I used to dislike mechs with hands, then I've read Decision at Thunder rift and It's the other way around now! You are out of ammo? So what, grab the nearest thing you see and beat the oponent to scrap metal with it.

I hope that I will be able to punch people with my Atlas to their mech buts ;)

Never been a fan of the Annihilator, either. Horrible speed and armor trade-off for ridiculous close/mid-range firepower. Depending on whether you get stuck fighting out in the open or in close, it's either something you lob PPCs at while laughing, or it's ridiculously OP (well, until it drains the ten shots in each AC/10. It holds a strange place of being both my least favorite 'mech to pilot and my least favorite 'mech to fight against.

A fair critique, but I love it. Get in close and unleash the fury. As you note though, it has to be in the right situation. Close quarters solaris duel: yes, wide open battlefield without a bunch of friends to help you get close: no.

I dislike any mixed-tech mech (meaning clan tech on IS mechs and vice versa)

I dislike the stock Victor and the stock Charger... both for their weird loadouts. I guess the Victor is a brawler and the Charger wants to be a scout, but both 'Mechs fall short in there roles. The Victor doesn't have enough armour to keep it standing and the Charger... well, it's special. Other than these two, I can't think of any chassis I'd rather see molten into armour plates.

The only mech that I would come close to me disliking it...would be the old Atlas.
Its supposed to be a most fierce-some mech...but it looks goofy ;) LIke a mugger in hockey mask...

HOWEVER, I'm loving the FD redesign of the Atlas. Changed my whole outlook on the mech. Now it positively look like a violently brutal brawler ready to rip apart your mech into pieces.

Viper: Don't get me wrong, this mech has some pretty fun configurations. The "head" bothers me, it looks like Donald Duck wearing a iron mask.

MWO: Are there any Mechs you can't wait to redesign? Why?

Alex: I really want to redesign the Mechs with bizarre legs that seem to defy physics in some sense, like the Stalker or Black Python, in order to fix the problem. Aside from that, basically any historically awkward or generic looking Mech that has usually been overlooked in favour of the cool looking ones, I’d love to polish them up, and bring out the cool factor for them.

Shadow Hawk (2H), why aren't you any good?
(Y U NO GUD?!)

It just seems to be a mish mash of weapons that can't really do much but 'try' and assist in battle.
Your jump isn't really worth it, your weapons load out is a LRM 5, AC/5, SRM2, and a fricking medium laser.
What were you just the sample weapons platform that the FWL uses to show things off and someone was delusional enough to think this could be a combat 'Mech?!

Mechs I hate:

Most all mechs with HANDS! Except the WolfHound. All flame thrower version is an absolute pest ;) :) !

The Black Knight: Typical disingenuous design, If you want to go with looking like a knight take a lesson from the Mauler! Jump jets, really?
This was the Uber balanced mech of its time. Who wasn't good in a Black knight?

The Galdiator/Gladbag: Awesome look but Uber balanced, again..Jump jets? Really? Who wasn't good in a Gladiator?

Diashi: I don't know if I liked this mech because it moved so slow or if I hated the huge head on legs. I used to get so excited seeing this pig as an enemy. It was a Chimera, Raven, Uller, Flee, Uziel, WolfHound pilots's dream in a blobby sack. Not only did it have a powerful alpha strike but it couldn't turn and moved like a slug. Sniping in a Chimera with a T-bolt was a dream come true until unless I got sloppy and got hit with its' monstrous arsenal. Oh the fun I had circling these bowling balls with small mechs and machine guns. Imagine being in a Diashi with an all MG Flee running around you LOL!!!!! Or a Flame throwing Wolfhound roasting you to ashes.

the Madcat: Just hated it for its popularity. Really no other reason.

the Shadow cat: Almost over powered but it looked like a walking Ivar's clam. Awesome mech but Meh... The only time I liked it was when some one on my team was piloting one. A Chimera Shadow Cat was a good combo of attack.

FEK315...OUT!

The only mech i truly hate is madcat. That abomination shouldnt be able to survive on real battlefield, with those flimsy arms, esily shot off rocket ears, and cockpit THE SIZE OF THE ******* SUBMARINE that should be great at gathering direct cockpit hits.

You forgot to add several large, brightly polished blind rivet "piercings" to the head of the 'mech (possibly obstructing pilot vision). And the crappy mesh-backed baseball cap with uncurled brim...

The Stinger by far is my most dislike Mech. Only the LAM version is useful for raiding. Speed is life for light Mechs.

Charger is second most disliked Mech.

Clint is third most disliked Mech. The clint is used by many units, but one good hit and ammo explosion.
