Mw:TC? MWT? wada faq r those?

I could stand to see a Mechcommander reboot +D

I hope no more Mechassaults....MA was lame.,.,.,,

MW:TC is MechWarrior Tactical Command for iSO devices: http://www.mechwarriortc.com/

MW:Tac is MechWarrior Tactics, a upcoming Free to play PC game and MW:Onlines "sister" project: http://www.mwtactics.com/
We don't know what MW:Tac is yet but most people are thinking MechCommander.

As for a new MechAssault, I would welcome it with open arms seeing as yeah, maybe us as hardcore Battletech fans do not like it but it sure did get a lot of the console community into Battletech and in turn also got them into MechWarrior.

Anything and everything Battletech is a + (but maybe not so much in one year, not complaining though just the[my] wallet, think of the wallets!)

Well, that doesn't look to bad of a game. The robots look like they were sliding all over the place and made of paper but its still in development. I'm not really into arcadey robot games but having more robot games couldn't be a bad thing ;)

And its F2P? I guess its another pc exclusive?

Anyways, MWO, MWT, MWTC and now Reign of Thunder. Nice development!

Ok all you devs out there, bring back HEAVY GEAR!!!!

How many people actually played mechassault?

I did not. (PS: I heard that all of the mechs had 360 degree torso twist and JJ capability. Is that true?)

Yeah, the animation looked quite odd to me too. I think I'm a much bigger fan of the PGI method... wait till it's beta-ready and polished before showing something like that. That video looked ROUGH.

I guess this gives the people who wanted a more arcade/action oriented game that didn't have to deal with the hassles of lore/tabletop what they wanted?

I tried playing a friend's copy since I loved Battletech and he was getting into Mechwarrior.
I gave it back and went to MW4 again. It just didn't fit me, but more power to the people coming into the Universe because of it.

It's not a new Mechassault. It's called Reign of Thunder. The trailers are up on MekTek.com. It's a new mech combat IP
And it looks terrible.
Forgive me I am late to the party.. sadddd facccee

I think its good to release a video of gameplay to generate fan interest and let the fans know the direction they're taking. *HINT MWO!*

Unless of course the point was to make want to buy the game. In which case they shouldn't have released that video.

i hardly doubt it. It is a new mecha IP, not a universe IP. I am betting on you only seeing Mecha like things and BA

Eh... a wanna be Mecha game, it looks to me like PGI/IGP beat them to the F2P rights for Mechwarrior so they had to use thier experience to build a Mechwarrior rip off.. Noticed when they said MechAssualt they used a different graphic.

I overall am not impressed.. all the mechs looked the same, game play was dark and cramped, had a circle and shoot look to it.. Sad its not a MA3 for Xbox360.. that I WAS looking forward too.. another Mech F2P game to compete with MW:O not so much.

Anyway, think Pink thunder going to change his unit name.. to avoid confusion?

Bad bad or bad 80's/90's good?

Bad Bad.. as in awful bad.. like if that is to the game as the 2009 trailer is to what PGI is planning.. then Day1 is going to lose a lot of money on their particular F2P.

Looked at their forums. Seems there are a few that seem to think it's Mechassault still.

Anyway, while customization is nice, I'm getting the really weird vibe that MechAssault and Armored Core had a one night stand and both forgot to bring protection. I'm actually a fan of Armored Core. The level of customization is crazy. Reign of Thunder looks like it's going for the arcadey style of MA and joining it with AC's customization. What really strikes me as odd is Day 1 Studios mentioned fans asked them to come back to the genre.....and then they put it on PC instead of consoles. With the level of customization they were showing, and the fact it's F2P, I can easily see them nickle and diming the players for new parts. Probably the best ones too so I imagine it will be P2W as well.

Overall, not something I'd hold my breath for.

Beware the "Reign of Pink Thunder!" Whenever Paul gets into his table-flipping rages, seek appropriate shelter.

Hopefully that shelter was not the table which was previously standing upright.

Yes on the torso twist, no on the jump jets.

Edit: Kinda bummed it's not a new MechAssault.

It doesn't seem like it's an actual BT/MW/MA game - it's a game that has mecha and is produced by the same company that created both of the MechAssault games (along with Fracture and the console ports of F.E.A.R. and F.E.A.R. 3).

It actually looks more like like Hawken or "Tribes-with-mecha" with MA graphics than an actual BT/MW game, IMO.

From IGN:

Quote

Reign of Thunder offers explosive, fast-paced online combat using towering yet nimble mech units. The frenetic, third person action-combat game allows players to create and customize Mechs to match their play style, choosing from thousands of weapon, shield, and gadget combinations. Players can also join factions and form clans to support community engagement and team play.

Genre: Online Action
Publisher: Day 1 Studios
Developer: Day 1 Studios
Online Play: 16 Versus

Okay, it at least deserves a look. I admit to liking MechAssault for its type of gameplay (which I regard as more of a 3D version of the old SNES/MegaDrive game of MechWarrior 3050/BattleTech game), but I didn't care much for its actual connection to BattleTech. Reign of Thunder looks to be more of the same, and I quite frankly, don't mind at all.
