i have only experienced stand alone mw pc games (mw to mw4, mechcommander, etc.) but never tried them multiplayer mode. collected as many book dealing with period before dark ages.

age wise i would be 'solahma' but since mwo is just beginning ... i am young again!

looking forward to the experience.

Fellow soldiers of the Draconis Combine, I salute you. Tabletop battletech was the first wargame that I ever played and it is something I credit with transforming me into a gamer. I played quite a bit of tabletop and always fought for House Kurita, usually against the hated Davions, the incompetent Steiners, or later on, the Smoke Jaguars. I'm excited to see a revival of the Battletech and Mechwarrior franchises and I will see you all on the field of battle. Death before dishonor.

All I can say is that I been a BMD 9th and or 15th that is all I can remember as the exwife pretty much lit everything I had on fire and up and down the social ladder of ranks and posistions...

Looking forward to seeing ole friends and the feeling of white knuckled intense battles.

2 and half weeks to go based on the launch time frame.

Well met all!
I as many of you started Battletech from the box set with miniatures. I have all the original books and sets and lots of painted miniatures. I have played all the PC games to date and have ready most of the books.
I like most people got sucked in with the great looking Warhammer on the front!
I have looked at all the Great Houses and have thought about this a long time. Kurita is definately the house for me.
As to mechs of choice.
Assault: Battlemaster / Zeus
Heavy: Thunderbolt / Marauder
Medium: Griffon / Centurion
Light: Commando

Overall I really look forward to rejoining the battle!!
See you online

Hi everyone I go by the name Lugh in any online game I can play. I started gaming on the PC finally when the MW games were released for it.

I played table top games back in the day as well. And I believe the last I played was in Mercenaries.

Can't wait to play.

Heyo! I'm Komaru.

I've been playing Mechwarrior since MW2, in which I spent a lot of time with an AC/20-laden Tarantula (I was a huge cheater back then in single-player games). I followed with Mechwarrior 3 where I learned to love Medium Pulse Lasers, and eventually my brother and I sunk many hours into MW4, where I developed a special love for the Daishi and ER Large Lasers. Mech Assault 1&2 were crimes against humanity.

I've played the tabletop game a little bit, and a lot of MegaMek, which has given me a rough understanding of classic BT rules, which is a huge help, especially with how MWO is set up.

I'm a big House Kurita fan, and a bit of a Japanophile at times, but it's generally under control.

MWO is a fantastic game, and having seen a good share of players at the NVIDIA community event, I'm confident that the future of MWO is bright.

So, let's go teach those other, lesser houses some lessons?

Konban-wa(bows)

Welcome Karuza-san. When you were HL in EGA I was in the 5th Syrtis Fusilier for House Davion. Talk about credit card burn out :D

I realized while scrolling through this thread is that I had posted but did not give any pertinent information about myself.

Started my Battletech career when a friend gave me several compressed games on 5 1/4 in disks (large floppies!!!) that included the original Mechwarrior with no code book. To enter the game one had to enter 3 words made up of the military alphabet, such as Foxtrot Tango Yankee. Hit the book stores, from the manuals to the novels to discover that and through trial and error was able to learn at least 3 different combinations that allowed me into the game. So I have collected 99% of the novels, sourcebooks, etc and enough miniatures to hold me down if dropped into lake.

Originally played MPBT EGA in 91/92 for House Davion. Went from 5th Syrtis Fusilier to Davion Heavy Guard. Was lots of fun til CCB

Played beta Solaris before it went live on AOL. Gravitated around the Davion sector but ran into many rude and unfriendly Davions. So stayed a lone wolf until I ran into Tsunami (he went about another name but not able to locate that information) during a series of drops who asked me to join his then merc unit, TSI, whose aim as to join a House since mercs would not available for sometime.

For those wondering, in EGA a person wishing to go merc had to reach a specific rank in a House military and C-bills, and that was the expectation with MPBT SVGA. Solaris was supposed to simply be the combat engine while we waited for the Community Warfare part which never happened. The community made due with what we had, running a weekly Solaris Succession Wars and tourneys with the most regular one being the Solaris Lance League.

TSI, after several meetings with Skies, joined House Kurita as a probational unit SOK, Sentinels of Kurita, then eventually we became 13th Rasalhague Regulars and I was a company commander. Eventually promotions saw me as the RCO for 13th RR. From there was promoted to DXO RMD, cross moved to DXO BMD then DCO PMD. Became HXO after Roller became HL when Rude Rich, translated as Burai Yutaka, stepped down. Eventually stepped up to HL position. When 3025 came into being I stepped down to the HXO position when RR stepped back into the HL position.

I enjoyed combat drops and learned to delegate others for community events. It was always interesting to run into people who thought I was an easy pawn, much to their regret. I enjoyed piloting a banshee, grasshopper and orion. The grasshopper was fun to pilot and I helped convert several people to utilize the grasshopper instead of the standard cat C1/K2 and the marauders.

Again, I wish to welcome everyone to the Draconis Combine Mustered Soldiery of House Kurita, those who were with the DCMS in other incarnations, those who have switched to HK and then those who have only recently joined this universe and this great house.

Again, youkoso (bows)

Tarl-sama <bow>

Thanks for the welcome...it's been a very long time since I talked to anyone from the MPBT world. Exchanged a couple e-mails with Slide a few years ago. I'm not kidding when I say that time I spent playing on GEnie was the best gaming I ever had....even with the suckiest graphics and game play that was mastered in 2 hours. It was the community and the developers willingness to change the game into what, we, the players wanted.

I'm having some trouble tonight linking some photos from photobucket...brain dead I believe.

Anyways PB has 4 ways of linking. E-mail, IM......Direct link.....HTML code link.......and image code link.

And here we got special BBcodes which has 13 sub options......a link button....a image button.......a code button......and a my media tab.

And damn if I cant get part A into slot A. I keep getting AB AD AE A??? If I leave any more scraps of replies in the Mods playground I'll be booted before dawn. Any help please? I did UTFSE...no go there either.

When I was HL for Kurita It was agreed upon that I quit playing and decomision my Marik personna. I was Lt. Col. Mishka. Their High Command knew I was there. I know......multi accounts for cheating were/are frowned upon but mine was never used for such and I was there with the full knowledge of Marik HC. I just loved running with differant people and differant social mannerisims.

Anyways I got to get rdy for work.
any spell check?

Finally picked a House. Well, fell back where I belong. ;-)
Anyway, long time TT BT and MW player (incl the Mechwarrior pnp rpg). I'm looking forward to some premade groups, since some of these PUG games are getting a little old... DCs, no teamwork etc.

Anyway, these days I'm pushing around my modified Raven 4x, getting it broken in before the ECM and BAP functionality activation. Currently acting as a spotter, missile shield and harrasser with: 2mlas, AMS, LRM10, BAP, ECM, 1JJ, XL185.
Also starting to spend time with my Commando. Haven't decided on 3SSRM or 2SSRM and a MLAS, but it's been... interesting. Plus my Founder's Cat.

For the HOUSE.

I suppose honor dictates I introduce myself. Markus Kurita will fight under the banner of the dragon. I also plan to try and start an East Coast group soon, so anyone interested, let me know.
I will be very interested to see the path that House leadership takes come the introduction of the mass faction warfare system.
Yoroshiku onegaishimasu, minna-san. See you on the battlefield. Ryuu banzai!

In the same boat friend ;)

I'm relatively new-ish to the whole MW thing, played vengeance when I was just a little kid. Also played that console game too, just love the universe.

Also just pokin around all the houses, but house kurita is definitely enticing but I do feel incredibly whitewashed on these forums. B)

Hi all, Just making a quick post here to say hello.
I've been around battletech since I was old enough to read, and been playing mechwarrior games since MW2(i think I have arthritis in my hands from all the hours put into that game) Online play in MW3 and MW4 but was never affiliated with any clans/merc groups. Hoping very much to find a home in MWO.

I prefer to pilot light mech's, scouting and acting as support, though I do from time to time like to hop in any heavy i can get ahold of with PPC's. Currently owned mechs in MWO is a RVN-3L Raven and a PPC equipped Catapult.
