GET HIM!! HE USED THE "S" WORD!!!!

the kesmai translation of "soon" - a length of time that could be anywhere from 2 days to two years(or longer).

anyone know if Li Han Woo is still around?
veteran of every Kesmai battletech game, from EGA to the bitter end when EA murdered Kesmai.

Tai-sa Dalfsson 5th SOL DCMS, (ret)
AKA MPBT SonicRock
(i still remember the friday mornig shifts after the daily restart, useing the banstick on the room snappers, speedhackers, and just plain idiots)
AKA lazyknight, (and a few other lazys) Legends of kesmai

Slightest mention of Battletech and look what starts crawling out of the woodwork. There must be some now empty graveyard of undead BT players that gets the soil turned every few years with these announcements. At least it's an opportunity to check pulses and throw down a <S>.

Let me be the first to say that I expect this to be ready, "SOON."

Great seeing familiar faces and kudo's to the dev's for recognizing a fantastic latent community when they see one and giving this IP a shot. Hope "the vision" and execution is what we've all been waiting for.

Looking forward to seeing who else crawls in...

So did anyone else beta test the game they had back in 2001, the one that got cancelled by EA/Microsoft?
http://pc.ign.com/ob...014/014050.html
http://battletechliv...attletech-3025/

So will it be like that game? because that was the MOST fun online game i seriously have ever encountered. Now this is from a guy who has beta tested every major mmo period ever, including Battletech 3025 in closed beta.

BTW I'm am soooo happy right now, I don't even know what to do with myself.

Easily the best Battletech game until MWO. I remember defending a planet 1 v 4 in a Panther using cover and that PPC to reign. Back when Jenners and Javs with 4 MLs were cheese.

I played MPBT 3025, though I don't recall the name I used (it wasn't this one). That was a fun game, if hideously flawed by weapon/'mech balance.

MBPT: 3025 player checking in!

K-wa all! I think my call-sign was likely Arathorn or Aragorn but it is tough to remember. I loved that game and think back on it fondly as one of the best times I have ever had playing a video game. I cant wait to throw some money at these guys and pray this game is basically a prettier version of what we played. Much love to the 3025 player base and especially House Kurita.!

Form 3025 AND Solaris player here.

I shall forever hold a certain hatred in my heart for EA because of what they did. (Namely buying Kesmai, then canceling all their games, including 3025 and Air Warrior)

Former 3025 player here as well. I was in my first year of university when it came out and really ticked off when it ended.

I remember there was a glitch or advantage when using a Raven with LRM5s so I bought a cheap Jenner and saved all my cash until I had enough for said Raven. I wasn't that high a rank when I got it so several opponents argued that I was cheating because there's no way I could afford it. Good times!

LOLLLLLL!!!

I still remember it clear as yesterday. My AIM was up and running about 2:30 in the morning. I received an IM from engineer. It said "Rush, dood...we are playing 3025" I was like ***? lol "Yea..lol and Im freakin rich and about to buy the rights to mpbt"
"Dood..seriously..wait...here"
3 minutes pass and a link pops up
"Shya..right, I am not clicking on that...I know you freakin "legioneers"
"DOOOOOD, Im not ******* with you. We are playing right now. The servers got hacked"

I paused, took a deep breath and said screw it. hit the link and a pop up stating the beta 3025 exe.
It actually started downloading..but what..lol
I was so tired I went to bed.
When I woke, my AIM was blown up with IM's. The download was complete and it wasnt until I saw the splash screen that I began to bounce off the walls. I couldnt believe it. It was so true.
I can actually say I was the 13th person online in 3025
Good times!!

ROFL you must have had balls of steel to download an exe from engineer, even I wouldnt have done that.

I remember that i get emails from some follow ups who tried to establish some fan based game... i even do donate there but, i have forgotten what the name of the thing was,the only thing i can truly remember was the ~S~ Daniel at the end of the mails (lost the emailadress long time ago...)

hah! late to the show, but I played a lot of MPBT3025 back in the day. was sad when they announced the game getting cancelled. i remember when i first started playing, scrolling through all the mech/weapon choices. i think at the time one of the cheaper mechs was a Jenner, so i strapped 4 med lasers to it and hopped in. i was an old time quake2 player with some railgun talent, so i figured the best tactic for me was to link the lasers and wait for quality shots instead of spamming single shots. with the lag of playing on dialup back then that really was the only effective way to fight. having extensive experience railgunning was a huge benefit. now all you kids with your fiber connections... get off my lawn!!!

...anyway, i don't know if i started it, but after awhile i saw a lot of cheap jenners with 4 med lasers. after the reset they jacked up the price of the jenner sky high heheh.

legging was particularly effective in that game because there was no limping around. dead leg = dead in the water. i remember one dude named SaladShooter who always levelled faster than anybody. when most of us were still under level 10, he was level 21 with a catapult (i believe). my lance of light mechs just legged him and then pounded him in the rear. you know you love that imagery =D

SaladShooter and I were mates. I remember he was competitive and would always be on. Even after the resets he would be the first to hit level 8 while we were still level 1. I also remember one time we lost a match and he told me that he threw a chair.... (O_o)

The memories...
