Ive been very lucky I used Cancr as my user name since quake 1 and there has been very few times Cancr has been taken.

So is there a Team speak or a vent or something we can all meet on?

I'd be interested for sure. This game actually has me excited. I stopped searching for MW games years ago because it was always just another disappointment

I'm a refugee from 2old2play as well. 35 years young and a 25 year BT fan.

I hope nobody is as offended by the age limit as it seems some posters were here: it's not about excluding anyone, but rather about finding folks who are like us in a number of ways: older gamers tend to have and to understand real-life commitments such as jobs, family, etc., and won't be as restrictive or expectant when it comes to gaming times; older gamers have shared experiences outside of the gaming world, whether it be work, education, divorce, loss, what have you; and older gamers, in my experience, just aren't at the level of the younger gamers, whether it be lack of practice time or slowing reflexes (no offense oldies! I know there are some old gamer ninjas out there, I'm only partly serious). Maturity is far down the list of benefits from playing with 2old2play gamers, from my perspective, TBH: I'm childish as ****. There are clans on the site that cater to very serious older gamers and to those who just want to have a few drinks and shoot some dudes. Maturity isn't goal #1 for some clans (ie. 2old2pwn), let's put it that way :D

Let me frame it like this. Joining 2old2play has dramatically changed my gaming experience. I'm an Xbox gamer primarily: I play Halo and the COD titles in terms of multiplayer, and really played no MP on PC until now. Before joining the site, I had fun, don't get me wrong: I played the Live version of "PUGs", ie. I joined random rooms alone. Joining the site and finding gamers like me, and eventually a clan who is exactly like me, who doesn't give a **** if I have a bad game or that I consistently run a negative KD, who understands if I miss a month of clan nights, who despite my unreliable nature and lack of gaming skill still want me around and who I consistently have fun with: invaluable. I gamed way more after joining the csite/clan and enjoyed my gaming to a much higher degree. And playing with supportive people definitely helped to improve my game, which is a nice side bonus.

I would imagine that there are more older gamers here than in many communities simply because the franchise is older than most and has some hardcore fans. I encourage you guys to check out 2old2play and see if it's for you. If you don't agree with our policies, that's cool, just know that we're about getting together with folks who are like us, rather than about excluding anyone.

House Marik huh? I fought against a few mech pilots who claimed the very same thing. Unfortunately their skill as a pilot didn't measure up to those from House Kurita.

I recommend House Kurita.

We are 32 in average in our unit. The oldest one is 49 years old and the youngest 21.
So i like your project when it brings people together. I think its important to have a few good things of both. Dont have an issue with the age!

I'm up for playing with people with team work in mind. I am 42... hope that is not too old for what you are looking for.

Alo there. 30 years old and 10 of those I've spent playing mmos. Loved the original MW universe and looking forward to adding my bit to the DC faction. Hit me up ingame if I get selected. My beta status is pending at the moment.

And btw, I'm loving the decidedly old school atmosphere you are looking for. I love playing LOTRO for that very reason. The community is so warm, mature and decidedly averse to griefers that I've come back to the game a long time after I got bored of it.

Hoping to have a great time!

I'm 43 and was a hardcore Mech warrior fan. Its great to see this game back. I once wrote to Michael Bay to make it into a movie but he never replied back ;) lol..

umm.... what does that mean? Timmies?

I think his reference involved something like this:

Mr. Lizard appeared on Dinosaurs as a parody of the television show Watch Mr. Wizard, whose host helpfully taught generations of children about science. Mr. Lizard's show, Ask Mr. Lizard, was vaguely related to scientific principles, but mostly existed as a way of ridding the world of young dinosaurs named Timmy. After the often violent death of his assistant, Mr. Lizard would cheerfully call off camera, "We're going to need another Timmy!"

The young "Timmy" was often oblivious and obtuse, possibly representing the eventual extinction of his species rather than an excuse for retroactive birth control. In either case eliminating the random "Timmy" was considered a way of improving the gene pool.

I think that what the OP is trying to say, is that while "Timmy" is busy improving the gene pool, he doesn't somehow take the rest of the combat team with him.
